Pneumatic hand ram. The invention relates to a hand ram operated by compressed air, in which a ram designed as a cylinder cylinder is guided on a stilt acting as a piston. The novelty consists in the fact that the stilt is made hollow and an annular space between the cylinder wall and the stilt closed by a stuffing box at the lower end and the stilt part at the top with the stilt cavity closed by a non-return valve is provided in the stilt wall Channels communicates.
The hollow stilt makes it much easier to manufacture the hand ram with a lower weight and a lower center of gravity. When the ram cylinder is lifted, the air under the stilt piston is compressed and partially pressed into the hollow space of the stilt, whereby an air cushion that becomes stronger with the stroke of the ram cushion forms between the stilt piston and the stuffing box, which causes the stilt piston to strike the stuffing box placed in the lower part of the ram cylinder prevented.
In the drawing, the subject invention is provided in one embodiment is. There show Fig.1 a longitudinal section through the ram, and Fig. 2, 3 and 4 three different Stel lungs of a slide same.
1 is the handle that is screwed up on the ram 2 designed as Zy cylinder, in which the bottom sealed by a stuffing box hollow stilt 3 with its piston 4 arranged above glides. On the handle 1, the housing 5 for the slide 6 is mounted in a known manner transversely to the longitudinal axis of the ram, which is under the action of a compression spring 7 and can be moved to the right by the lever 8 mounted in the handle. The housing 5 is provided with inlet and outlet slots 9 and 10 and a channel 11 which opens behind the slide 6 and which is connected to the outlet channels 13 of the ram cylinder 2 through the annular space 12 mounted in the handle.
If the slide 6 is moved to the right by the lever 8 (Fig. 4), then the compressed air from the hose screwed into the handle passes through the channel 14 and the inlet slot 9 into the housing ring 15 and through the bore 16 into the cylinder 2 above the Stilt 3, which raises the former. When the cylinder 22 is lifted, the air enclosed in the annular space 17 (FIG. 1) passes under compression through channels 18 provided in the stilt wall below the piston 4 into the cavity of the stilt 3.
As soon as the lever 8 is released and the slide 6 thus assumes the position shown in FIG. 2 again, the compressed air located above the stilt 3 passes through the outlet channels 13 of the cylinder 3, the outlet slots 10 and the housing ring space 20 into the open. The stilt 3 is then drawn into the cylinder 2 by the strö Mende from its channels 18 in the) annular space L7, from below on the piston 4 pressing tense air.
This movement would not take place, or would only take place imperfectly, if the pressure under the stilted piston were to be weakened by any leaks. In this case, the spring-loaded check valve 19 in the upper part of the stilt piston 4 ensures that when the ram cylinder is lifted, air passes under the stilt piston until the pressure above and below this piston has equalized.
In this way, when the ram cylinder is raised further after the pressure equalization, the air under the stilt piston, since the valve 19 prevents the same from emerging from the stilt upwards, is pressed higher than the tension of the compressed air supplied to the ram, so that it can be pulled in the stilt in the cylinder there will always be sufficient pressure under the stilt piston.
