Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung von Bz1. Dz2-Dgmethylbenzanthr on. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung des Bzl . Bz2-Dimethylbenzanthrons, dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man Anthron und (Oxy- methylen-methyl)-äthylketonnatrium der fol genden Formel:

unter Zusatz eines sauren Kondensations mittels kondensiert.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 1ä Gewichtsteile (Oxymethylen-methyl)- äthylketonnatrium werden in 40 Gewichts teilen Eisessig gelöst und diese Lösung zu einer solchen von 19 Gewichtsteilen Anthron in 100 Gewichtsteilen Schwefelsäure von 62, B6 gegeben. Unter Selbsterwärmung ändert sich die ursprünglich gelbe Lösungsfarbe des Anthrons über grün nach grünblau (l. Phase der Reaktion). Beim Erwärmen auf etwa 110 wird die Lösung schliesslich rein rot.
Nach einstündigem Nachrühren bei dieser Temperatur wird auf Eiswasser gegossen und das in gelben Flocken abgeschiedene Bzl.Bz2- Dimethylbenzanthron isoliert. Aus Eisessig kristallisiert dasselbe in gelben Nadeln vom Schmelzpunkt 207 . Konzentrierte Schwefel säure löst rot mit rotbrauner Fluoreszenz.

When heated to around 110, the solution will eventually turn pure red.
After stirring for one hour at this temperature, it is poured onto ice water and the Bzl.Bz2-dimethylbenzanthrone which has separated out in yellow flakes is isolated. It crystallizes from glacial acetic acid in yellow needles with a melting point of 207. Concentrated sulfuric acid dissolves red with red-brown fluorescence.
