Description
Leather dye for dyeing and re-dyeing leather goods. The invention relates to a leather color for coloring leather goods, for example footwear, which is characterized in that it contains a pigment color, a dissolved leather dye, thinner, castor oil, dissolved turpentine and zapon varnish. As a pigment color and as a leather dye, all substances previously used for leather treatment for dyeing purposes are suitable - which are able to achieve the desired color on the leather. The main leather dye used is a fat-soluble leather dye that is dissolved in benzene.
Acetone and amyl acetate are the main diluents; they aim to make the leather color fluid so that it can penetrate the pores of the leather when it is painted on. Castor oil is used to ensure the suppleness and softness of the leather; Terpentine is intended to have a similar effect and is also intended to ensure waterproofing. Finally, the zapon varnish is used to achieve the gloss.
Example: 160 g pigment color, mixed with a doughy 240 "solution of fat-soluble leather. Color in benzene, to achieve the desired shade, 200" acetone, 200 "amyl acetate, 40" castor oil, 60 "a solution of turpentine in acetone (20 gr turpentine, 40 gr acetone), 100 "zapon varnish, after thorough mixing results in 1000 gr of a lightly liquid leather color, which colors the leather through and through, even when the leather is choked,
gives the leather complete softness and suppleness, which is guaranteed to be watertight, dries quickly and is extremely durable.
