montre.
watch. The object of the invention is a watch which is characterized by the fact that it has, towards its periphery, at least one opening made through the actual elements of the case, so that the walls of the opening are exclusively formed by integral parts of said elements of the box. This opening can serve different purposes and affect any shape. It could serve, for example, as a housing for the winding crown or as a passage for an attachment member, ribbon, cord, carabiner holder of a watch chain, etc.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view of a first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a section taken along line 11-11 of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 shows in front elevation, the second embodiment.
In the first embodiment (fig. 1 and 2), the watch is represented only by its case, the winding crown and part of the winding stem. The case comprises a back 1, a bezel 2 carrying the crystal 3, and a casing ring 4 intended to support the movement of the watch. The back 1 @and the bezel 2, between which the circle 4 is arranged, are assembled with each other by a notch adjustment.
The box has, towards its periphery, two openings 5 and 6 made through the elements 1, 2, 4 of the box, so that the walls of the opening are formed exclusively by integral parts of said elements of the box. , in which the object of the invention differs from other similar watches, where such openings are constituted, on the one hand, by a notch made in the periphery of the case, and, on the other hand, by a bridge or a segment reported (welded) in said notch.
In the opening 5 is housed the winding crown 7 fixed to the winding stem 8 which passes through a hole in the casing ring 4. The crown 7 has a certain axial play within the limits of the opening. 5, clearance which is necessary for the operation of the time-setting mechanism of the hands of the watch. So that the crown can be grasped and turned, it protrudes a little on both sides of the watch.
The purpose of this provision is to prevent the. loss of the winding stem, when there is an accidental disassembly of the winding and time-setting mechanism, on the one hand, and of the winding stem, on the other hand.
The opening 6 is disposed vis-à-vis the opening 5 and serves to attach the watch to a chain, for example using a carabiner holder 9.
The watch may have a single or greening which will serve either as a housing for the winding crown, or to attach the watch to a chain or other organ, respectively an attachment link such as ribbon, cord, etc.
The shape of the openings is indifferent; it may be appropriate to the type and the. shape of the crown or tie.
Thus the opening will have a narrow and elongated shape serving as a passage for the ribbon 10 in the chatelaine watches, as shown in FIG. 3. A wristwatch will necessarily have two of these openings which will serve as passage for the fastening members.
The invention is applicable not only to round watches, but also to shaped watches, regardless of the constructon.
The watch shown not only offers the advantage of preventing the loss of the winding stem, but also presents a certain cachet of originality. In addition to that., Its cost price is lower than that of a similar watch provided with handles or openings formed, on the one hand, by a size made in the periphery of the case and, of on the other hand, by a bridge inserted in this notch.
