Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Zwisehenproduktes    der Teerfarbenindustrie.    Das     l.-Chlor-2-naphthylthioglykolsäure-          chlorid    ist bekanntlich ein sehr wertvolles  Zwischenprodukt der Teerfarbenindustrie.  Es wurde gefunden,     dass    man sehr leicht und  in vorzüglicher Ausbeute zu dieser Verbin  dung gelangen kann, wenn man das     2-Naph-          thylthioglykolsäurechlorid    mit chlorierenden  Mitteln behandelt.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>  218 Teile     f-Naphthyltliioglyli:olsäure    wer  den in<B>600</B> Teilen eines geeigneten Ver  teilungsmittels,, wie Chlorbenzol oder     Tetra-          chlorätha.n,    suspendiert und 1.40 Teile     PCl3     beigegeben. Hierauf wird während zwei  Stunden auf 80 bis 100   C erhitzt.

   Nach  Verdünnung der entstandenen Lösung des       ss-Naphtliyltliioglykoylchlorids    mit 800 Tei  len des verwendeten Verteilungsmittels lässt  man nach Zugabe einer geringen Menge  eines Überträgers (zum Beispiel 2     gr        Ferri-          ehlorid    oder     Antimonpentachlorid)    innert  einer halben     ,Stunde    bei 0 bis 5   135 Teile         Sulfurylchlorid        eintropfen.    Das Reaktions  gemisch wird während mehrerer Stunden  weiter gerührt, hierauf auf die Temperatur  des Arbeitsraumes steigen gelassen und zur  Vervollständigung der Reaktion einige Stun  den bei dieser Temperatur gehalten.

   Die so  erhaltene Lösung des     1-Chlor-2-naphthylthio-          glykoylchlorides    ist, gegebenenfalls nach       Vertreibung    der vom     Sulfurylchlorid    stam  menden schwefligen Säure, direkt zur Wei  terverarbeitung geeignet. Die Ausbeuten  sind vorzüglich, besonders wenn man unter  Ausschluss von Licht arbeitet:
