Description

Process for producing a jelly from a liquid substance.

It has been observed that liquids can be easily put into
Jelly if you put them in
Presence of small amounts of water mixed with magnesium alcoholates.

The method according to the invention can be carried out, for example, as follows:
Example 1: 120 parts of methyl alcohol with about 0.5 to 1% water are mixed with a solution of one part of magnesium in 30 parts of methyl alcohol. After a short time, the mixture solidifies into a solid jelly.

Ethyl and others behave in the same way
Alcohols. Using this process, a hard spirit can be produced with only 1% residue, which has the great advantage that it does not melt when it burns off.

      Example 2:
1 to 2 parts of magnesium alcoholate solution are added to 10 parts of castor oil and 0.1 part of water, dissolved in a little alcohol, is added to this mixture. The jelly formation occurs very soon. Also the consistency of others
Oils, such as machine oil, can be increased this way.

     Bet game 3:
Liquid hydrocyanic acid with a low water content can be converted into a solution after standing for a while by adding magnesium alcoholate
Formation of a solid jelly brought to who the handling offers for many Folle advantages over the liquid form.

As some further examples according to the present process fluids easily transferable into jelly are mentioned:
Epichlorohydrin, chloroform. Benzene, xylene.

In addition to uniform liquids, mixtures of liquids with one another or of liquids with solid or gaseous substances, such as alcoholic ammonia, can also be solidified by this process.

The method can also be carried out in conjunction with other known methods pursuing the same purpose. for example by converting alcohol into a jelly in one operation with magnesium methylate and sodium stearate.
