Process for making conical pins, shaft parts and the like. The invention relates to a method for producing conical pins, for example holding and locating pins, conical shaft parts and the like according to claim of the main patent. In order to achieve a good fit of the pin even in bores that are not entirely accurate, the pin is deformed so that its conical fitting surfaces have a convex curvature.
The spherical shape in the tapered education has proven to be particularly useful because. the formation of burrs on the gante of the holes when driving is avoided and an excellent sticking of the pin on the hole wall is achieved.
1 and 2 show a convex tapered pin with lateral flats produced by the method, FIGS. 3 and 4 such a. with notches, FIG. 5 shows a connection with the aid of this pin, FIGS. 6 and 7 show a device for producing such pins.
From Fig. 5 it can be seen how a conical pin according to FIGS. 1 and 2, which has undergone a relocation of material due to indentations and can be reduced in diameter when it is used by partially relocating the material back, when driving into a hole of two connecting components adapts to the hole in that the building material of the pin lying on the wall of the hole is partially pushed back into the pin recesses (flattened areas).
In order to obtain the largest possible contact surfaces for a firm fit, it is advisable to use notched pins according to FIGS. 3 and 4.
The pins according to FIGS. 1 and 4 are spherically conical.
This pin shape is formed by shifting the material from round bars. The pin according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is obtained, for example, in that a. Round bar is pressed between punches that have arched pressing surfaces. The formation of -notched pins according to FIGS. 3 and 4 takes place by pressing between punches with correspondingly curved pressing surfaces.
A device for making pins of the latter type show the hig. ss and 7. a. mean the press rams. They are arranged in a star shape and provided with arched pressing edges b, which are inclined according to the pin shape to be generated towards the fabric axis, i.e. protrude the furthest at the point where the pin is to be strongest, so that most of the pin material is there is displaced.
So that the displaced material at least partially maintains the circular cross-section, the punches a. also provided with surfaces c which correspond to the spherical conical shape to be produced and serve as a counter-surface.
The material shift in the round rods can also be done by moving suitable tools, for example zylin.driscbe Rol len, wheels of the notches to be pressed in corresponding profile, along the rods in such a way that they displace the material of the round rod according to the pin shape to be generated.
