Description

Dentures brush. The object of the invention is a brush for cleaning dentures.

We notice that dentures are often covered with a greasy film formed from food residues and adhering to them in an extremely strong way, especially inside the hooks, if there are any. Such a film is dangerous for the hygiene of the mouth, because it ferments and acidifies easily, giving a bad odor, demineralizing the natural teeth that may remain and causing rapid and disastrous caries.

The brush according to the invention is designed so as to allow effective and rational cleaning of dentures by removing the film in question. It has for this purpose two elongated groups of bristles, each group having a longitudinal convex shape and the two groups being separated by a relatively wide groove.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the brush. Figs. 1 and 2 are a front view and a side elevation; Fig. 3 is a section through the line III-III of FIG. 1; Figs. 4, 5, 6, 7 relate to its use.

This embodiment, made for example of wood, of celluloid, comprises a body a of rectangular shape and a handle b of generally triangular shape which can be firmly grasped by hand.

The body has two groups c d of bristles which, when seen from the front, have the general shape of a rectangle with rounded angles of large surface and are parallel. to one another. Each of the groups of bristles has a convex shape both in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction. They are separated by a furrow less wide than them.

In that of the ends of the body a which is opposite to the handle b are screwed, removably, two members f g having bristles and having, one in the shape of a rectilinear truncated cone, the other that of a truncated cone, the upper part of which is curved; they are used for cleaning the inside of denture hooks and for cleaning difficult-to-access palatal parts. The handle b has a hole h so that the brush can be hung up to dry.

Figs. 4 and 5 show that by moving this embodiment back and forth, the underside of the arch r of the denture's palate i can be cleaned longitudinally and transversely in an energetic and complete manner, the length of each group being chosen Consequently.

Each of the cd groups of bristles can nevertheless be introduced separately from the other into one of the cavities (called "vestibules") of the upper face of this arch r (fig. 6) to free it. film; its curved longitudinal shape facilitates its penetration into any part of the dentures, without imposing too much fatigue on it. Finally, the organs f g can be threaded into the hooks 7c (FIG. 7) to remove the part of the film which is there; they can also be used for cleaning difficult to access palatal parts.

We thus realize that the form of execution, thanks to the measures taken, allows a complete and energetic cleaning of all the parts of the dentures.

Brushes put on the market might not have f-organs for partial dentures and could be provided with f-organs for full dentures. So there would be brushes with and saris organs f.

The shape and arrangement of the body of the brush and the handle, of the groups of bristles and of the members arranged at the front end of the body, the number of these as well as the width of the groove may differ according to the needs of those who have been indicated: The groups of bristles may not have a rounded shape transversely: the organ (s) f may be permanently attached to the body; there can be only one of these organs; the handle may have an ovoid shape; its hole can be deleted.
