Turbinenlokomotive.
Vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich nun auf eine Turbinenlokomotive mit wenigstens einem durch eine Hilfsturbine angetriebenen Hilfsaggregat und bezweckt, die .Steuerung der Lokomotiven zu erleichtern, indem die Steuerung der Hilfsturbine bezw. des Hilfs aggregates abhängig gemacht wird von der Steuerung der Hauptturbine;
Turbine locomotive. In turbine locomotives, that is, in locomotives that are driven ben by a turbine, it has been proposed to also use auxiliary units, eg. B. feed pumps, condensate pumps and the like, to drive turbines through turbines, the exhaust steam of these turbines being conducted in various ways.
For example, these auxiliary turbines were sometimes coupled together in such a way that the exhaust steam from one turbine had to pass through another turbine in whole or in part, or the auxiliary turbines were also coupled to the main turbine, either by the Exhaust steam from the auxiliary turbines has been introduced into the main turbine at such a point where the back pressure is that desired for the auxiliary turbines, or by virtue of the fact that the auxiliary turbines have been fed with steam from the main turbine at a suitable point has been tapped. The main turbine has mainly received its steam directly from the steam boiler of the locomotive and delivered the same directly to a condenser.
Since several of the auxiliary units, due to their nature, often have to be controlled as a function of the main turbine, the control of the locomotive has so far been quite complicated.
The present invention now relates to a turbine locomotive with at least one auxiliary unit driven by an auxiliary turbine and aims to facilitate the control of the locomotives by controlling the auxiliary turbine respectively. the auxiliary unit is made dependent on the control of the main turbine;
The invention consists in that the inflow part of a certain auxiliary turbine for driving an auxiliary unit is connected to the steam boiler and the exhaust line of this turbine is connected to the inflow part of the main turbine, so. that steam for the main turbine first flows through the auxiliary turbine and only afterwards through the main turbine, whereby the power output by the auxiliary turbine is dependent on the control of the main turbine. The invention is illustrated by way of example on the accompanying drawing.
In all the figures the case is shown where only one auxiliary turbine is arranged; but of course there is no obstacle to arranging a plurality of auxiliary turbines in the same manner. Fig. 1 shows a circuit diagram. an arrangement according to the invention, and Fig. 2 a modified embodiment of this arrangement; Fig. 3 shows schematically a detail of the connection between the main turbine and the auxiliary turbine.
In Fig. 1 and 2, 1 denotes the steam boiler of the locomotive, 2 an auxiliary turbine, for example to operate the condenser fans, 3 the main turbine and 4 the condenser. According to Fig. 1, the steam flows from the steam boiler 1 through a high-pressure line 8 to a steam inlet 5 common to the two turbines 2 and 3, which regulates the amount of steam, and from there through the auxiliary turbine 2. The blade system and the inflow part of this auxiliary turbine are like this designed that in the same only a small part of the pressure gradient of the high pressure line 8 passing steam is used.
From the auxiliary turbine 2, the steam is conducted through the line 10 to the main turbine 3, where the entire remaining pressure gradient, i.e. the pressure gradient from the pressure of the inflow steam in the line 10 to the vacuum in the outflow line 11 to the condenser, is used.
By arranging the auxiliary turbine between the steam boiler and the main turbine, one is able to control both the main turbine 3 and the auxiliary turbine 2 with only one steam inlet 5, which of course is of great importance in the case where the auxiliary turbine is in operation is dependent on the operation of the main turbine, which is the case, for example, when the auxiliary turbine, as stated above, is intended to operate fans for promoting the cooling air required for the condenser, because the main turbine is of course not started without cooling air being forced through the condenser at the same time.
The described arrangement also has the advantage that the speed of the auxiliary turbine \? is automatically regulated in accordance with the speed of the main turbine. In the modification shown in FIG. 2, the high-pressure line 8 is branched into two lines 12 and 13, which lead to the auxiliary turbine 2 through controllable steam pipes 5 and 51.
The discharge line 10 of the auxiliary turbine 2 is also branched into several lines: the drawing shows three branch lines 10a, 10b and lüc, which all open into the inflow part of the main turbine 3 and of which two branch lines, lüb and 10e, each with a controllable inlet are ver see. The branch lines can also all be provided with such inlets and be connected to the inlet areas of the inflow part of different sizes.
The exhaust line 11 of the main turbine 3 opens, as before. directly into the capacitor 4. The branch lines 1 \? and 13 each open into a group of guide vanes of the auxiliary turbine 2.
which, as will be explained in more detail in Fig. 3, are constructed in such a way that the steam which is introduced into the turbine through the line 13 processes a greater pressure gradient as it passes through it than the steam which is introduced into the turbine the turbine through line 1? is introduced.
The pressure drop in the first-mentioned case is twofold (- in some cases so large that the pressure in the discharge line 10 becomes the same as the vacuum in the condenser 4. This means that one is able to drive the turbine 2 to be able to without the turbine 3 is started at the same time.
To this end. the steam inlet 5 'is opened while the Daairpfeinla.ss, 5 is kept closed, the steam introduced into the turbine 2 processing such a large steam gradient that the same vacuum is created in the line 10 as in the condenser 4, so that the steam so no steam gradient remains for the main turbine.
If, on the other hand, the steam inlet 51 is closed and 5 is opened, the steam admitted into the turbine 2 will only process a slight pressure gradient, so that sufficient pressure remains to operate the main turbine 3. By opening one or both inlets of the lines lob and 10e, the back pressure after the turbine 2 and thus also the amount of power of the two turbines 2 and 3 can be changed.
The more of these inlets are closed, the greater the counter pressure after the turbine 2, - and the lower the power it will be in relation to that of the turbine. Give 3 from. If the branch lines 10a, 10b and 10e are connected to the inlet areas of the inflow part of the main turbine of different sizes, this change in the counter pressure after the auxiliary turbine can be brought about in smaller steps by opening and closing the inlets.
From Fig. 3, the above-mentioned formation of the auxiliary turbine is clearer. According to this figure, the turbine 2 has a blade wheel 14 and two groups of guide vanes 15 and 16. As mentioned above, these guide vanes 15 and 16 are constructed in such a way that the steam supplied through the line 12 has a lower pressure drop processed its passage through the turbine, while the steam that is introduced through line 13, a larger pressure gradient, for example, processed up to the vacuum in the condenser.
This is caused by the fact that the channels between the guide vanes 15 do not widen towards the impeller 14, so that no expansion of the steam occurs in these guide vane ducts, while the ducts between the guide vanes 16 widen towards the impeller 14 so that the steam is subjected to expansion as it passes through it.
According to Fig. 3, the discharge line 10 of the turbine 2 is respectively in two branch lines loa. 10b branches, of which the branch line 10a is in open connection with the guide blades 17 and the first blade wheel 18 of the main turbine 3. The branch line lob is provided with a control valve 19 through which the steam can be let into the guide vanes 20. When the valve 19 is closed, there is a higher back pressure after the turbine 2 than when the same is open.
In the former case, the turbine 2 thus performs less in relation to the turbine 3 than in the latter case.
If it is assumed, as has been assumed above, that the turbine 2 drives fans for the cooling air of the condenser, then it should evidently deliver a greater power than during the summer, when a larger amount of cooling air is required during winter, when the temperature is lower and thus the amount of cooling air can be reduced.
The branch lines 10a and 10b are expediently adjusted in such a way that the valve 19 does not need to be actuated on any other occasion than when the weather has changed, so that it is completely or partially open during the summer, while it is open when it occurs colder weather more or less closed depending on the lowering of the external temperature. becomes.
It is thus possible to control both turbines through the same common inlet device 5. This is, as indicated above, of great importance when the operation of the auxiliary unit driven by means of the auxiliary turbine is dependent on the operation of the main turbine, which is the case in the example chosen above when the auxiliary turbine is used to operate the Ven fans of the capacitor is used.
It is of course advantageous, with a view to saving steam, if the amount of cooling air pressed by the condenser is automatically adapted to the amount of steam supplied by the main turbine into the condenser, and if the auxiliary turbine is only driven when cooling air is required.
In certain cases, however, it can also be useful to drive the auxiliary turbine without letting the main turbine work. As mentioned above, this can be done by driving the auxiliary turbine only through the line 13 by means of steam. This is the case if the locomotive continues to run on its own when going downhill. in which case the auxiliary turbine 2 is expediently supplied only through the line 13 steam.
This has the advantage that the exhaust steam of the auxiliary turbine driven in this way has a cooling effect on the main turbine as it passes through the main turbine, which is of great importance to prevent excessive heating of the main turbine as a result of the friction of the rotor blades on the one in the same to prevent any remaining steam.
In the illustrated embodiments v; the entire amount of steam is passed through the auxiliary turbine. But there are execution forms conceivable in which a certain amount of steam is fed directly to the main turbine through a secondary line which bypasses the auxiliary turbine. A large part of the steam quantity, which is regulated when the main turbine is controlled, is first passed through the auxiliary turbine so that the auxiliary turbine becomes dependent on this control.
The. The invention depends on the number of auxiliary turbines which are connected between the main turbine and the steam boiler, or on whether these auxiliary turbines are mutually connected in series or in parallel. or regardless of the type of auxiliary unit driven by the auxiliary turbine.
