Description

Device on automobiles to protect the driver's eyes from the light rays of the headlights of oncoming vehicles. As is known, the vehicle drivers are blinded at night by the light beams of the headlights fer of oncoming vehicles. To remedy these evils, various facilities have already been proposed. The most common are the dimming devices in which the light is weakened by switching so that the driver of the oncoming vehicle is not dazzled. However, these dimming devices have the disadvantage that when the light is dimmed, the light beams are too weak to illuminate the roadway with sufficient intensity.

Before other devices to prevent dazzling, for example mechanical devices to direct the light beams of the headlights obliquely onto the roadway, had the disadvantage that they were relatively expensive.

These shortcomings are to be remedied by the present invention. The same relates to a device on automobiles to protect the eyes of the motor vehicle driver from the light rays of the headlights of oncoming vehicles, and the novelty of the device is that it consists of a screen placed in front of the driver's eyes .

On. The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment from the subject of the invention.

The windshield of a left-hand drive car (not shown) is designated with a. On the frame part b of the windshield, one end of a screen c consisting, for example, of opaque material is attached by means of fastening means, not shown in detail. The screen c is tapered at its free end d, which is located in the position shown approximately at eye level of the driver and protects the eyes of the same from the Lichtstrah len the headlights of oncoming vehicles.

The umbrella described is expediently attached in such a way that it can be folded down when not in use, for example when driving during the day, so that it does not disturb in any way and that its height is also adjustable. The screen can be made of opaque material, for example Me tall or the like.

The device described enables the drivers of vehicles equipped with such devices to be able to pass the lane with full lighting.
