Pinee pour saisir le linge. L'objet de l'invention est une pince pour saisir le linge.
Lorsqu'on fait la lessive, on est souvent obligé de prendre le linge à la main dans le liquide bouillant pour l'en sortir et le mettre égoutter ou le rincer. Cette opération, effec tuée directement à la main, est pénible à cause du poids du linge mouillé et de la température du liquide. La présente pince permet au contraire de saisir le linge avec facilité sans avoir à tremper les mains dans le liquide.
Elle est caractérisée par un ressort agissant sur ses deux branches pour fermer la pince qu'on ouvre à la main.
Grâce au fait que le ressort tend à fermer la pince, c'est lui qui fournit le gros effort nécessaire pour maintenir le linge, si bien que la personne se servant de cette pince n'a plus qu'à la soulever avec le linge, sans avoir à la maintenir fermée.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de la pince. Les fig. 1 et 2 en sont deux vues mon trant ses branches à deux positions différentes. Les deux branches de cette forme d'exé cution sont faites, par exemple en bois, et se composent chacune d'une partie cylindrique <I>a ou b,</I> ainsi que d'une partie de forme aplatie c ou d; les parties c et d présentent sur leurs faces en regard des saillies (ï des creux perpendiculaires aux axes des parties cylindriques et disposés de fagon que les saillies de l'une des parties pénètrent dans les creux de l'autre, quand la pince est fer mée, pour bien saisir le linge.
Les deux parties<I>a b</I> sont reliées à celles de leurs extrémités se trouvant à l'opposé des parties c d par un ressort e en acier nickelé ou galva nisé se composant d'une partie médiane, formant une spire et de deux parties extrêmes rectilignes taillées en pyramides à base carrée à leurs bouts libres et enfoncées dans ces parties<I>a b;</I> ces dernières sont munies de viroles f g. en fer galvanisé ou nickelé des tinées à, empêcher le bois de se fendre.
Dans l'une des branches est assujetti un guide métallique h, en aluminium par exemple, ayant la forme d'un arc de cercle et passant dans une coulisse i de l'autre branche; il sert à maintenir en regard les parties<I>c d</I> au cours de la manoeuvre de la pince.
On se sert comme suit de cette forme d'exécution On ouvre la pince en agissant à la main sur ses deux branches a-c, b-d jusqu'à ce que la distance entre les parties<I>c d</I> soit assez grande, puis on les plonge dans le liquide de part et d'autre du linge à saisir; il ne reste plus alors qu'à laisser agir le ressort e, qui ferme la pince, et à soulever celle-ci avec le linge. La longueur de ces branches est suffisante pour qu'on n'ait pas à tremper les mains dans le liquide chaud. Le ressort e permet, d'autre. part, une grande ouverture de la pince.
Dans la forme d'exécution représentée, le ressort sert à la fois d'articulation et d'organe agissant pour fermer la pince. On peut cepen dant relier les deux branches par une arti culation usuelle et loger le ressort entre elles.
Les deux branches peuvent aussi être réunies en leurs parties médianes par une articulation et le ressort être disposé entre celles de leurs parties extrêmes opposées aux parties extrêmes qui saisissent le linge. La pince peut naturellement servir à saisir du linge ne se trouvant pas dans un liquide chaud.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the clamp. Figs. 1 and 2 are two views showing its branches in two different positions. The two branches of this embodiment are made, for example of wood, and each consist of a cylindrical part <I> a or b, </I> as well as a flattened part c or d ; parts c and d have protrusions on their faces (ï hollows perpendicular to the axes of the cylindrical parts and arranged so that the protrusions of one of the parts penetrate into the hollows of the other, when the clamp is iron mée, to properly grip the laundry.

This embodiment is used as follows.The clamp is opened by acting by hand on its two branches ac, bd until the distance between the <I> cd </I> parts is large enough, then they are immersed in the liquid on either side of the laundry to be seized; all that remains then is to let the spring e, which closes the clamp, act and to lift the latter with the washing. The length of these branches is sufficient so that you do not have to soak your hands in the hot liquid. The spring e allows, else. hand, a large opening of the clamp.
In the embodiment shown, the spring serves both as an articulation and as a member acting to close the clamp. It is however possible to connect the two branches by a usual articulation and to accommodate the spring between them.
The two branches can also be joined together in their middle parts by an articulation and the spring can be placed between those of their end parts opposite to the end parts which grip the laundry. The tongs can naturally be used to grab laundry that is not in a hot liquid.
