Description
Absperrschieber.
Gate valve. In the case of gate valves, which are often installed in hard-to-reach places, such as for example in road shafts or completely in the ground, it is important that the valve stuffing box keeps tight as long as possible.
The subject matter of the present invention is a gate valve, which has a rotatable but not rising spindle with a collar, which is arranged in the upper part of the valve housing directly within the stuffing box and when the valve is opened, when the valve body is pulled all the way up, until it hits the upper part of the valve housing, as a result of the clamping effect generated thereby, is pressed down in a valve-like manner to seal a seat in the upper part of the valve housing, so that the stuffing box is relieved of the pressure in the valve.
1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing voltage show an embodiment of the subject invention.
Fig. 1 shows in longitudinal section the target slide in the closed position; In Fig. 2, the slide is shown fully open in cross section.
The housing a has an upper part b with a stuffing box c. In the. Upper part, the spindle d is rotatable, but not rising, which rests with a collar h on a seat i in the upper part.
The slide wedge e, which can slide up and down in the slide valve housing a, is pressed down onto its seats f when the slide is closed. When the slide is opened, the slide wedge e is pulled up in the slide housing a until the stop surface g of the slide wedge e hits the surface k of the upper part b.
This causes the collar dz of the spindle d to be pulled down onto its seat i , so that the collar h and the seat i act like a valve, thus preventing the liquid or gas pressure from reaching the stuffing box c above the collar h when the gate valve is open, so that the stuffing box is protected and remains tight for almost an unlimited period of time.
Since the valve closure relieving the pressure on the stuffing box takes place in the hollow space of the valve a in the upper part b , which receives the valve wedge, the parts h and i are not flushed by the liquid flowing through the gate valve, or smeared by the gas flowing through, and thus no dirt can deposit on the relief valve.
