Dispositif d'avancement de la poupée de tabac indépendamment de son mouvement de rotation, appliqué aux machines à fabriquer des cigares. L'objet de la, présente invention est un dispositif d'avancement dé la poupée de tabac indépendamment de son mouvement de rota tion appliqué aux machines à. fabriquer des cigares. Ce dispositif trouve son applicatio-u plus particulièrement dans les machines à fa briquer des cigares cylindriques dits ,;bouts suisses".
Le dessin -annexé représente une forme d'exécution du dispositif donnée à titre d'exemple.
La fi-. 1 en est une coupe longitudinale, les fig. 2, 3 et 4 sont des coupes suivant les plans<I>A</I> B et C de fig. 1, et la fig. 5 est à une échelle réduite une vue d'ensemble du dispositif.
Le dispositif représenté comporte trois groupes distincts d'organes, savoir le pour voyeur D, le tambour rotatif E et le support d'avancement F combiné avec un dispositif d'enroulement de l'enveloppe.
Le pourvoyeur D, destiné à amener le ta bac coupé au tambour E, en vue de former la poupée, comporte un ruban transporteur sans fin 1, de préférence en caoutchouc sou- ple, roulant entre deux poulies 2, dont la gorge a la forme d'un V évasé, en vue de donner au ruban 1 la forme d'une rigole.
A son extrémité rapprochée du tambour E, le pourvoyeur est muni de, deux galets de guidage 3, juxtaposés et inclinés l'un vers l'autre du. même angle que les - faces inté rieures du ruban transporteur, de sorte que les faces latérales d@e ces galets, tournées vers le ruban 1, puissent frotter sur ses faces in térieures et entraîner ainsi les galets dans un mouvement de rotation indiqué par les flèches 4.
Les deux galets 3 sont pourvus chacun d'une gorge circulaire et leur rapprachement constitue avec le fond du ruban 1 un cercle 5, ,dont le diamètre correspond à. celui de la poupée et dont le centre est placé sur l'axe d'avancement et,de rotation du dispositif.
Un. tub horizontal 6, fixé au support<B>7</B> des galets, est orienté avec son axe dans la direction de l'axe du dispositif. Son extré mité postérieure, tournée vers les galets 3, est coupée -en sifflet et s'adapte à la, section formée pa:r les .gorges des galets juxtaposés, en vue d'éviter une solution de continuité au passage de la poupée dans le tube.
La, par tie supérieure 8 du sifflet se prolonge, au- dessus des galets 3, en forme de doigt qui re couvre .les joints formé, par les gorges des galets.
L'autre extrémité 9 du tube 6 pénètre li brement dans le tambour E, assura.nt ainsi à, l'avancement de la poupée la continuité entre le pourvoyeur et le tambour.
Le tambour E, qui sert en même temps à l'avancement et à la, rotation de la. poupée, est de forme générale cylindrique et repose sur deux supports 10 et Il pourvus de roule ments à, billes 12. L'axe de rotation (lu tam bour est horizontal et se confond avec l'axe dit dispositif.
Dans son intérieur, le tambour renferme un groupe de quatre rubans de transport sans fin 13, confectionnés, par exemple en caout chouc souple de section trapézoïdale, repré sentée en hachures pointillées en fib. 3, avec la grande base en arc de cercle de même dia mètre que le cercle 5. Ces rubans servent à l'avancement de la poupée et à. sa. protection pendant son mouvement de rotation. La, dis position des poulies de roulement 14 sur les quelles sont guidés les rubans sans fin 13, est dessinée en fib. 3.
Ces poulies 1-1 sont pla cées en forme de croix à chaque extr: mité dit tambour et leur rotation est obtenue par les pignons coniques 15, prévus à la partie anté rieure, engrenant avec les roues dentées 16, à double engrenage, dont la denture périphé- rique est en prise avec l'engrenage circulaire taillé à l'intérieur de la frette 17 du tambour.
Les rubans sans fin avec le-tirs poulies de roulement sont renfermés dans une ba.ine cy- lindrique 18, pourvue d'une couronne dentée 19 en prise avec un pignon 20, calé sur l'ar bre de transmission 21 qui transmet le mou vement de rotation aux tambours E.
La partie antérieure 22 du tambour a la forme d'une calotte et se termine dans le pro- longement de son axe de rotation par une partie tubulaire 23, en pointe, servant Îi gui der la poupée avant sa. sortie du tambour. L'extrémité du tube 23 repose dans un sup- port fixe 24 qui forme l'autre point d'appui du tambour (le premier étant le tube 9 .du pourvoyeur).
Le support fixe est creux pour laisser libre passage à la poupée. Ça face a a ntérieur est coupée en sifflet, suivant l'an- gle d'inclinaison entre la direction d'avance ment de la. poupée et la direction d'enroule ment de l'enveloppe en feuille de tabac.
Le support F, qui fait partie du disposi tif d'enroulement, suit immédiatement le dé bouché du support fixe 24. Il comporte une série de rubans sans fin 25, par exemple en eaoutchouc à section rectangulaire, tendus entre deux arbres 26 et 27, supportant les galets de roulement 28 de chaque ruban 25. Ces arbres sont perpendiculaires à la direc tion de l'enroulement de l'enveloppe 29 et re çoivent un mouvement de rotation indépen- d.a,nt.
-Une seconde série de rubans sans fin 25 est enchevêtrée avec la première et supportée par des galets de roulement 28 montés sur deux arbres 30 et 31, parallèles aux arbres 26 et 27.
L'enchevêtrement de ces deux jeux de rubans sans fin constitue un chevalet sur le quel repose tout en avançant, le cigare 32, pendant qu'il est enroulé dans sa première enveloppe 29.
Dans son ensemble, le dispositif fonc tionne de la manière suivante. Le tabac coupé est répandu sur le ruban 2 du pour voyeur D et transporté dans la direction de la flèche de fib. 1 jusqu'aux galets 3, où il est saisi dans les gorges de -ceux-ci et poussé dans. le tube 6, après une première compres sion, sous forme de poupée de section circu laire.
La poupée avance vers la, partie anté rieure du tube et arrive dans le tambour E où elle est saisie par les quatre rubans, sans fin 13 qui participent à la. rotation du tam bour. La poupée est ainsi entraînée vers le support fixe 2-1, tout en exécutant un mouve ment de rotation à, la vitesse :
correspondant à celle du dispositif d'enroulement de l'etive- loppe. La. feuille de tabac 29 est maintenant applictu ée sur la. poupée qui avance sur le support F, lequel communique au cigare 32 par la rotation de ses arbres 26-27 et 30=-31 un mouvement combiné d'avance ment et de rotation.
Le cigare ainsi formé passe par un second tambour E', où il subit le même mouvement d'avancement et de rotation que dans le pre mier tambour E. A la sortie du tambour E', le cigare 32 reçoit une seconde enveloppe 29' et avance maintenant sur le support F' qui le conduit vers le dispositif coupeur où le ci gare 32' est coupé en bouts de longueur dé- terminée.
L'un des principaux avantages de ce dis positif réside dans le fait que par son avance- ment sur un chemin indépendant du mouve ment de rotation, la poupée de tabac demeure résistante, en conservant sa rigidité pendant tout le passage à travers le dispositif, évi tant ainsi toute obstruction au bon fonction- nement de la machine, dû notamment à l'en gorgement par suite de désagrégation de la poupée de tabac,
ainsi que cela se produit fré quemment dans les machines similaires. Les axes des poulies inclinées 2 et 3 peuvent être entraînés par la transmission.
Les supports des poulies 14 sur lesquelles roulent les rubans sans fin 13, peuvent être aussi décalés d'un certain angle, ceux de de vant par rapport à ceux de derrière du tam bour, en vue de donner à tous les rubans 13 renfermés dans celui-ci un mouvement d'a vancement hélicoïdal, destiné à renforcer la poupée du tabac, en lui donnant une certaine torsion pendant son déplacement dans l'inté rieur du tambour.
Suivan:b la qualité du tabac et pour ren dre<B>la</B> poupée plus rigide, on peut prévoir aussi un .dispositif d'attache de la poupée au moyen d'un ruban ou fil, par exemple en chanvre ou autre, qui serait introduit dans le tube 6 et qui s'enroulerait en spirale autour de la poupée pendant l'avancement de celle- ci dans le tambour.
Le tabac coupé recevrait ainsi une rigidité plus grande qui empêche rait la @poupée de se désagréger pendant son passage dans le tambour rotatif.
Il va sans dire que le nombre de rubans sans fin 13 renfermés dans le tambour E peut varier suivant l'épaisseur de la, poupée. De même peut varier ,aussi pour la même rai son le nombre de jeux de rubans sans fin 25, constituant le support F. On peut, par exem ple, ,adjoindre facilement un troisième jeu pour envelopper davantage le cigare et pour mieux le guider pendant son passage d'un tambour dans l'autre.
Le diamètre de la poupée .de tabac peut aussi aller en diminuant graduellement de- puis l'entrée, dans le tube du pourvoyeur, jusqu'à la sortie du tambour rotatif, compri- m-ant ainsi successivement la poupée, au fur et à mesure de son avancement.

The device shown comprises three distinct groups of members, namely the voyeur D, the rotary drum E and the advancement support F combined with a device for winding the envelope.
The provider D, intended to bring the cut tray to the drum E, with a view to forming the doll, comprises an endless conveyor belt 1, preferably of flexible rubber, rolling between two pulleys 2, the groove of which has the shape of a flared V, in order to give the tape 1 the shape of a channel.
At its end close to the drum E, the provider is provided with two guide rollers 3, juxtaposed and inclined towards each other of the. same angle as the internal faces of the conveyor belt, so that the lateral faces of these rollers, turned towards the strip 1, can rub on its internal faces and thus drive the rollers in a rotational movement indicated by the arrows 4.
The two rollers 3 are each provided with a circular groove and their connection constitutes with the bottom of the strip 1 a circle 5,, the diameter of which corresponds to. that of the doll and whose center is placed on the axis of advance and rotation of the device.
A horizontal tub 6, fixed to the support <B> 7 </B> of the rollers, is oriented with its axis in the direction of the axis of the device. Its posterior end, turned towards the rollers 3, is cut into a whistle and adapts to the section formed by the throats of the juxtaposed rollers, in order to avoid a solution of continuity to the passage of the doll in the tube.
The upper part 8 of the whistle extends above the rollers 3 in the form of a finger which covers the joints formed by the grooves of the rollers.
The other end 9 of the tube 6 penetrates liberally into the drum E, thus ensuring the advancement of the headstock continuity between the feeder and the drum.
The drum E, which is used at the same time for the advancement and the rotation of the. doll, is generally cylindrical and rests on two supports 10 and II provided with bearings, balls 12. The axis of rotation (lu tam bour is horizontal and merges with the said device axis.
In its interior, the drum contains a group of four endless transport ribbons 13, made, for example, of flexible rubber with trapezoidal section, represented by dotted hatching in fib. 3, with the large base in an arc of a circle of the same diameter as circle 5. These pulleys 1-1 are placed in the shape of a cross at each end of said drum and their rotation is obtained by the bevel gears 15, provided at the front part, meshing with the toothed wheels 16, with double gear, whose Peripheral toothing is engaged with the circular gear cut inside the hoop 17 of the drum.
The endless tapes with the rolling pulleys are enclosed in a cylindrical ba.ine 18, provided with a toothed ring 19 engaged with a pinion 20, wedged on the transmission shaft 21 which transmits the slack drum rotation gear E.
The front part 22 of the drum has the shape of a cap and ends in the extension of its axis of rotation by a tubular part 23, pointed, serving as a guide to the headstock before its. drum outlet. The end of the tube 23 rests in a fixed support 24 which forms the other fulcrum of the drum (the first being the tube 9 of the provider).
The fixed support is hollow to allow free passage for the doll. This facing inward is whistled, following the angle of inclination between the direction of advance of the. doll and the winding direction of the tobacco leaf casing.
The support F, which forms part of the winding device, immediately follows the blocked die of the fixed support 24. It comprises a series of endless ribbons 25, for example made of rubber with a rectangular section, stretched between two shafts 26 and 27, supporting the rolling rollers 28 of each strip 25. These shafts are perpendicular to the direction of the winding of the casing 29 and receive an independent rotational movement.
-A second series of endless ribbons 25 is entangled with the first and supported by track rollers 28 mounted on two shafts 30 and 31, parallel to the shafts 26 and 27.
The entanglement of these two sets of endless ribbons constitutes an easel on which the cigar 32 rests while advancing, while it is rolled up in its first envelope 29.
As a whole, the device operates as follows. The cut tobacco is spread on the tape 2 of the voyeur D and transported in the direction of the arrow of fib. 1 up to rollers 3, where it is grabbed into the grooves of these and pushed into. the tube 6, after a first compression, in the form of a circular section doll.
The doll advances towards the, anterior part of the tube and arrives in the drum E where it is gripped by the four endless ribbons 13 which participate in the. drum rotation. The doll is thus driven towards the fixed support 2-1, while executing a rotational movement at the speed:
corresponding to that of the wrapping device of the envelope. The tobacco leaf 29 is now applied to the. doll which advances on the support F, which communicates to the cigar 32 by the rotation of its shafts 26-27 and 30 = -31 a combined movement of advance and rotation.
The cigar thus formed passes through a second drum E ', where it undergoes the same movement of advancement and rotation as in the first drum E. On leaving the drum E', the cigar 32 receives a second envelope 29 'and now advances on the support F 'which leads it to the cutting device where the station 32' is cut into ends of determined length.
One of the main advantages of this positive device lies in the fact that by its advancement on a path independent of the rotational movement, the tobacco doll remains resistant, maintaining its rigidity throughout the passage through the device, thus avoiding any obstruction to the proper functioning of the machine, due in particular to engorgement as a result of disintegration of the tobacco doll,
as often happens in similar machines. The axes of inclined pulleys 2 and 3 can be driven by the transmission.
The supports of the pulleys 14 on which the endless ribbons 13 roll, can also be offset by a certain angle, those of the front relative to those of the rear of the drum, in order to give all the ribbons 13 contained in that -Here a helical advancement movement, intended to strengthen the tobacco doll, giving it a certain twist during its movement in the interior of the drum.
Following: b the quality of the tobacco and to make <B> the </B> doll more rigid, we can also provide a device for attaching the doll by means of a ribbon or thread, for example in hemp or another, which would be introduced into the tube 6 and which would spiral around the doll during the advancement of the latter in the drum.
The cut tobacco would thus receive a greater rigidity which would prevent the doll from falling apart during its passage through the rotating drum.
It goes without saying that the number of endless ribbons 13 enclosed in the drum E can vary according to the thickness of the doll. Likewise can vary, also for the same reason the number of sets of endless ribbons 25, constituting the support F. One can, for example, easily add a third set to further wrap the cigar and to better guide it during its passage from one drum to the other.
The diameter of the tobacco doll can also go gradually decreasing from the entry, in the tube of the provider, to the exit of the rotating drum, thus successively compressing the doll, as and measure of its advancement.
