Mit dem Festhalten der Bremsscheibe wird automatisch, .auf irgend eine (nicht darge stellte) Weise auch die Zündung für,die Ein zelturbine a1 ausgeschaltet. Gleichzeitig tritt zwar vom Kompressor aus Druckluft in :den Explosionsraum der Einzelturbine a1 ein;
Combustion twin turbines, in particular for driving vehicles. The present invention relates to a twin combustion turbine, particularly suitable for driving vehicles such as automobiles and the like, wel- before two combustion turbines facing each other with their end faces, which act on a common differential gear, of which the work machine is the agent is driven to generate the compressed air.
By simply holding or releasing one of the two turbine shafts, a single turbine is switched on or off and a reduced or increased amount of compressed air is generated, with ignition in the individual turbine, which is switched off or on by holding or releasing the turbine shaft, simultaneously with the Hold or release the turbine shaft, switched off or on.
Each individual turbine has a slide valve attached to the outlet of its combustion chamber, which alternately shuts off the inflow of the propellant and releases it after the ignition has occurred.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a slide valve, and FIG. 2 shows part of the twin combustion turbine, FIG. 3 shows a view of the twin turbine, partly in section,
1 shows the compressor of the turbine in plan view, FIG. 5: shows the compressor in view, FIG. 6 shows a vertical section along line 11-13 in FIG. 3.
1 and 2 are partially schematic representations and therefore differ in details from FIG.
The two individual turbines a, a1 are connected by a common differential gear b, the housing e of which carries a helical gear d with helical teeth running on the casing, Idas via a helical gear e of the same design and:
a pair of impellers f, 9 drives the air compressor. This is known in principle and design and consists of a stationary housing i, in which a cylinder lt rotates, on -to which a helically curved, receding bar 1c provided at the edge with a cylindrical web is placed, so that two opposite sides open,
Ring-shaped grooves are created. Two tightly closing sliding wedges engage in these two ring-shaped grooves, which are resiliently mounted in the closed, box-like container Z of the housing and in front of which a branching line m is connected to the housing. Opposite passages na are located behind these containers l in the housing.
When the body h, 1c circulates in the direction of the arrow, the widening gutters through the passages n air alternately lifted once, sucked in once over and during the further circulation, since the sliding wedges are inserted into the gutters as dividing walls, i.e. as a slide Over acting, which close the channels in every position, under pressure. into the line in ge (Fig. 2).
The compressed air occurs m one, at one end of the closed cylinder-the o, which carries staggered slots p in the jacket. The cylinder is fully enclosed by a second stationary cylinder q, which is connected at one end to the compressed air line in and on the jacket with tubes r . The inner cylinder is forcibly set in rotation derived from the gear wheel d.
The air in the cylinder flows alternately into one of the tubes r. The facility will hereinafter be referred to as the distributor for short.
The pipes r each introduce the compressed air through a carburetor valve s enriched with gas into an explosion chamber t. This carries: at the inner end a guide vane ring that leads to the turbine rail ic. This is surrounded by a bead ring v with a pipe connecting to the exhaust chamber.
Between the guide vanes and the turbine wheel, however, a disk provided with openings is inserted, which can partially rotate the width of the openings so that the openings coincide with the guide vanes or cover the latter in which Case the cylinder t is closed forward ge.
The latter is always the case before a new ignition. The nozzle slide av, like part n; henceforth is to be mentioned, is provided with .einem lever x, which can fully pull a movement between stops .y (Fig. 1).
The lever x. is connected by a rod -s and an articulated double lever z, with the rod of a piston 1, the guide cylinder on the turbine cylinder t W.ig. 2) sits and is in direct contact with it. By means of a spring, which could also be placed directly on the piston, the piston 1 is always pulled down until the lever x rests against the upper stop.
This is the di.e position of the nozzle slide before ignition begins. With this arrangement, the compressed gas mixture is to be held in the Ez- plcsionsrau.m t until ignition, i.e. prevented from flowing out through the turbine wheel, whereupon the piston is pushed upwards due to a higher pressure after ignition has occurred,
which then, through the intermediary of the transmission means, brings the nozzle slide zc into position so that the gases can now flow away via the turbine wheel until the pressure in the explosion chamber has dropped so far that the spring 2 pushes the nozzle slide back into the Sühliess - lay e can lead back.
This process ivie.d@ recovers with each explosion period. The interconnected individual turbines act together on the differential gear. The associated turbine shafts a and. 4 carry larger bevel gears 5 facing each other, which rotate in opposite directions of rotation with respect to their associated individual turbines, but because they are positioned opposite each other have the same direction of rotation.
Between the bevel gears 5, smaller bevel gears 6 are switched on, which are carried by the gear housing c by means of pins or the like. After this, if the bevel gears @> rotate evenly and in the same direction, the bevel gears 6 switched on between them are carried along without the same being able to rotate; rather, the entire differential gear rotates like a rigid whole.
In this rotation, @ da, the geared 6 are fastened in the gear housing c by means of pins, also Idas gear housing, e c. Furthermore, since the screw thread is arranged on the transmission housing c, it must also participate in the rotation of the transmission housing c.
The helical gear d has helical teeth, which are set at an angle to the circumference and have a low degree of rigidity, which, like a worm, engage in the correspondingly shaped teeth ides Pa, des e. From the screw: enracl d, which should be noted alongside, the drive of the working machine, such as an automobile, is also derived.
On the shaft 3 of the individual turbine a, a brake disk 7 is arranged, which can be held in place by a brake pad 8 with the help of a foot lever 9 or in some other suitable manner.
When the brake disc is held tight, if it is assumed that both individual turbines have acted equally on the differential gear up to that point, the following picture emerges.
While up to then both bevel gears 5 revolved in the same direction of rotation and,, the bevel gears 6 .that held between them, Idas the bevel raid 5 belonging to the shaft .3 is now held; Accordingly, the bevel gears 6 must roll on the fixed bevel gear 5, so that now the gear housing c with the helical gear d receives half the number of revolutions as before.
Accordingly, the compressor will also drop to half the speed. This half of the power is only used to the benefit of the one single turbine a still in operation.
By holding the brake disc, the ignition for the single turbine a1 is automatically switched off in some way (not shown). At the same time, compressed air from the compressor enters: the explosion chamber of the individual turbine a1;
Since, however, ignition does not take place here, the nozzle remains preferred: the turbine a1 is closed, and more compressed air can now be sent from the compressor via the distributor to the turbine a1, but only still get to the turbine a in operation.
If, on the other hand, the brake is released and the ignition is switched on again automatically at the same time, the individual turbine a1 starts up again immediately.
The explosion chambers of the individual turbines also have an axially mounted cone 10, which, like a jacket that may be arranged on the individual turbines, can be cooled by cooling water. Steam or water can also be temporarily blown into the explosion chamber through a further valve 11, which are known arrangements.
Other details of the twin combustion turbine also correspond to known arrangements and do not need any further mention @claher.
