La fig. 1 -montre un collier de serrage d'un type robuste; La fig. 2 en est un plan correspondant; La fig. 3 montre un collier de serrage d'un typeplus léger; La fig. 4 est le plan d'une bande estam- tD - pée dont on peut former une bride estampée;- La fig. à représente une forme de bande- embrasse;
Clamp of for flexible pipes. This invention relates to a hose clamp for flexible pipes, suitable for example for fixing the latter by clamping on metal pipes. This clamp has a bent flange at its internal face so to be able to adapt to the pipe on which it is to be mounted, a passage provided in one of the ends of this flange so as to to be directed tangentially to the flexible pipe when the clamp is mounted on it, a hole provided to </ B> the other end of the flange and directed approximately parallel to said pitch, and a band-tie curved to so to fit the pipe on which it is intended to be mounted,
this band-tie having at one end a bent part engaging in said hole of the flange and at the other end a tightening part passing through said passage of the flange to allow the tightening of the collar.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, several embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 -shows a hose clamp of a sturdy type; Fig. 2 is a corresponding plane; Fig. 3 shows a hose clamp of a plus light type; Fig. 4 is the plane of a stamped strip from which a stamped flange can be formed; - Fig. to represents a form of tie wrap;
Fig. 6 is a perspective view. -a stamped flange.
In fig. 1 and 2, the A flange is of a robust model intended to be used on pipes of large section and in the case where high pressures are desired. The internal face of the -A flange is hollow in such a way to conform as perfectly as possible to the circumference of the flexible pipe B for which it is intended to </ B> be fixed.
One end of the A flange has a C hole and its other end has another hole, D, and a bare hollow E. holes C and D are parallel to each other, the hole C being at approximately tangential to pipe B. It is possible to give the hole 1) a different shape from the one shown on the drawing.
With the flange A is combined a band-tie F, of suitable thickness, curved to engage around the pipe B on which it is intended to be placed. One of the ends G of the band F, which end is tangential to the curved part of it , is threaded to receive nut 11, and the other end, J, is. angled at right angles and thus disposed parallel to the threaded part G,
this angled part being tines to to fit in the hole D and the slot E. The end < B> J could have the shape of a hook, but the simple shape as shown is preferable.
The strip F may be made of a metallic wire of round, oval or other shape in section, suitably conformed at the ends and the surface of which is smooth or flattened to the. where the tape is applied to the pipe. A As a variant, the P tape could be formed by -a metal tape receiving the desired shape at the ends.
It is preferable that the band F is not too hard so that it can be easily curved. The nut H which bears on a flat K of the flange -4 has an appropriate shape for its tightening with using a wrench or other tool ; but it could also be moderated or fitted with fins with a view to its hand tightening.
The clamp is assembled as follows: The band F is placed around the pipe B intended Ù, to be tightened; then, we go up. flange A on the ends GJ of the band F and finally screw the nut Il on the end G of it against the flat K of the. flange A up to. that a sufficient tractioa has been exerted on the band F. We realize that as we screw the- nut H on the end G of </ B> band F, the band diameter decreases steadily. this band being pulled to through the hole C of the flange A.
The execution form of la fia. 3 is similar to the first, except that the flange A has , a less robust form. When to the flange of fig. 4 and 6, we see that the latter is made by stamping a piece of curved sheet metal, bent twice at one end so at < / B> form a seat for the clamp nut, this bent part presenting at the elbow an opening C ' for the passage of the threaded part G of the band- embraces.
