Method for operating rotary machine systems with at least one fluid stuffing box attached to the rotary machine. The subject matter of the invention is a method for operating gyro machine systems with at least one fluid stuffing box attached to the gyro machine. According to this method, liquid is removed from the circular, sealing liquid ring of the stuffing box and at another point in the system the properties of this removed liquid: pressure and heat content, at least one of which is used.
The liquid removed from the stuffing box can be used as feed liquid for a second stuffing box, which has to seal against a higher pressure. If desired, several stuffing boxes can be connected one behind the other in such a way that the liquid taken from a stuffing box is fed to a subsequent one. Furthermore, at least part of the liquid removed from the stuffing box can be injected into the means passing through the centrifugal machine.
In such a case, before injection, that liquid can expediently be fed in countercurrent to a condensate which is taken from the centrifugal machine system and serves to feed the stuffing box, so that the liquid to be injected is warmed and the liquid to be fed into the stuffing box is cooled .
The inflow of sealing liquid into the stuffing box can be regulated as a function of the pressure that is generated by the rotating liquid ring, or as a function of the pressure of the means passing through the rotary machine, conveyed or working. But it can also be regulated by changing the flow of the barrier fluid from the stuffing box. Under gyroscopes. are understood in the present case centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps and steam turbines.
In the accompanying drawing, for example, embodiments of a gyroscope and associated devices are illustrated, which are used to carry out the method according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a vertical longitudinal section through a centrifugal compressor, which is provided with ztvei liquid stuffing boxes; - Fig. 2 shows a device which makes it possible to regulate the flow of sealing liquid to a liquid stuffing box as a function of the pressure generated by the rotating liquid ring;
3 shows a device which allows the inflow of sealing liquid zri a liquid sighcitsstopflüchse to be controlled as a function of: the pressure of the means zii passing through the centrifugal machine, conveyed or working;
FIG. 4 shows an overboard valve which controls the sealing liquid flowing into a liquid stuffing box; depending on the amount of liquid flowing out of this valve, 1Tgeln permitted;
Fig. 5 shows, partly schematically, a device in which the one removed from a stuffing box and used for injection. into the means passing through a centrifugal machine serving liquid in countercurrent to one of the centrifugal machine installation ent taken and for feeding the stuffing box serving condensate is fed, for the purpose of heating the liquid to be injected; and cooling the liquid to be fed into the stuffing box.
In Fig. 1, the impellers of a four-stage centrifugal compressor with the reference sign 1 are assigned. This centrifugal compressor is provided with a suction port 2 and a pressure s + port 3. It also has two liquid stopper cans 4 and 5, of which the first is arranged in the suction end and the second is arranged at the pressure end of the compressor. The stuffing box 4 is sealing liquid through a line 6 and a continuation of this line forming hole 7 leads.
Gases, vapors and excess liquid accumulating in the stuffing box 4 can escape through a line 8. At one point on the outer circumference of the annular cavity of the stuffing box 4, which is used to hold the barrier fluid, a bore 10 connected to a line 9 branches off. The line 9 communicates with a bore 11 provided on the pressure side of the centrifugal compressor, which opens into the annular cavity of the Stopfbiiclise 5, which is used to hold the sealing liquid, in the vicinity of the twisting shaft 12.
This 13olilraum stands: through a line 1; in connection with the atmosphere.
During the operation of the gyroscope dielectric, the sealing liquid contained in the cavity of the stuffing box 4 is made to circulate, whereby it pushes towards the outer circumference of this cavity and partly through the bobbin 1.0 and the line 9, as well as the bore 11 in the cavity of the stuffing box 5 pressed:
where it serves as a barrier fluid for this stuffing box 5 provided on the pressure side of the compressor.
In the event that liquid is to be injected into the means passing through the centrifugal compressor, sealing liquid removed from the stuffing box 4 or 5 can be used for this purpose. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, liquid removed from the gland 5 is used for injecting the stuffing box and is supplied to atomizers 15 through a line 11.
In Fig. 2 it is shown how the inflow of sealing liquid to a liquid stuffing box can be regulated depending on the pressure generated by the circulating liquid ring tt @ ircd. This pressure will act through a line 16 to a - the lower side of a spring-loaded piston 17 brought. The latter carries a valve 18, the inflow of blocking liquid from a line 19 into a line 20 leading to the stuffing box 4 prevails.
The device shown in FIG. 3, which is used to regulate the flow of sealing liquid into a stuffing box (not shown) in dependence on the pressure of the medium passing through the rotary machine, has one a valve 22 provided .Kolben 21 on.
A spring 32 and the medium (gas, steam or the like) flowing through the centrifugal machine, which is supplied through a line 23, act on the upper side of this piston. The sealing liquid taken from a stuffing box (not shown) and supplied through a line 24 acts on the lower side of the piston 21. The valve 22 controls the transfer from the stuffing box to zuzufüh render sealing liquid from a feed line 25 into a connecting line 26.
Fig. 4- shows a so-called overboard valve which is connected through a line 27 to the cavity of a fluid stuffing box, not shown. The liquid flowing through the line 27 into the housing 28 of the on-board valve acts on a valve 91), which is loaded by a spring 30. Depending on the amount of from the housing through the. Line 31 outflowing liquid: the valve 29 is held in a higher or lower position.
The liquid taken from a liquid stuffing box of the type described can also be used for purposes other than those mentioned above.
Since lower water temperatures are very desirable for the operation of such liquids, for the injection of liquid into a centrifugal compressor the temperature of the available condensate should be used as much as possible in order to achieve good evaporation of the injection water, so in the Mreise shown in Fig. 5 expediently taken from the centrifugal compressor system condensate for heating. of water displaced from the stuffing box and injected more densely into the rotary compressor.
In such a case, the cooling water used to cool the water to be supplied to the stuffing box only has to dissipate a small amount of heat, so that heat losses are limited to a minimum. The temperature data given in FIG. 5 make it possible to get an idea of the prevailing conditions.
