Abstract
Il est décrit des systèmes et méthodes pour la mise à niveau partielle des sables bitumineux. Les systèmes et méthodes comprennent la formation dun bitume à faible teneur en asphaltène au moyen dun traitement à lécume de paraffine, suivi de la viscoréduction et/ou dune autre forme de craquage thermique du bitume à faible teneur en asphaltène. En utilisant un traitement à lécume de paraffine pour former un bitume à faible teneur en asphaltène, des précurseurs de coke possibles sont éliminés de lalimentation avant le craquage thermique tout en réduisant la perte dautres hydrocarbures à lintérieur du bitume ou en les réduisant au minimum. Lélimination des précurseurs de coke peut permettre une augmentation importante de la sévérité du craquage thermique tout en produisant un produit craqué dont la teneur en particules de coke est réduite ou réduite au minimum.
