Abstract
L'invention concerne une électrode pour la production d'aluminium métallique par électrolyse d'un composé contenant de l'aluminium dissous dans un électrolyte fondu, le procédé d'extraction électrolytique étant effectué dans des cellules de fusion de conception classique de Hall-Heroult. L'électrode comprend un corps contenant du carbone calciné qui est solidaire d'au moins un conducteur métallique composite comprenant des éléments conducteurs d'un matériau contenant du Fe et des éléments conducteurs d'un matériau contenant du Cu. Le conducteur composite comprend un matériau de couche barrière au niveau de l'interface entre les deux matériaux conducteurs. Des matériaux de barrière des types céramiques, matériaux durs réfractaires (RHM), et métalliques, sont proposés ainsi que des procédés pour leur application.
