Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé chimique qui capture et convertit du sulfure d'hydrogène (H2S) gazeux en soufre élémentaire, polysulfure, dioxyde de soufre et/ou acide sulfurique tout en régénérant l'agent de capture d'hydroxyde de sodium pour l'utilisation ultérieure dans une étape de capture initiale de H2S. Le traitement peut inclure le nettoyage initial à l'hydroxyde de sodium des courants gazeux contenant H2S, la régénération électrochimique de l'hydroxyde de sodium à partir d'hydrosulfure de sodium ou de sulfure de sodium, la récupération du soufre et/ou du dioxyde de soufre à partir du traitement électrochimique, et la production d'acide sulfurique à partir de ce soufre et/ou dioxyde de soufre.
