Abstract

Summary The invention concerns an adapter to fasten one or more accessories on a weapon, specifically a rapid-fire weapon, as well as a process to modify such a weapon.

The adapter has either a. a housing (9) of metal with a cylindrical exterior surface that contains at least one ring groove (15, 17) and that may be connected metallically with the barrel (5) of the weapon such that it surrounds the barrel (5), where the ring grooves are oriented axially or axis-parallel to barrel (5), and b. an accessory unit (23), which may be attached solidly to housing (9) in order to support accessories, or c. a housing (9) that surrounds the barrel (5) of the weapon and that can be solidly affixed to the same, and d. a protuberance (35) on the accessory unit (23) that inserts into a matching recess (33) to secure it from rotating.

The process of the invention modifies the weapon by means of this adapter (Fig. 1).
