Abstract
De manière générale, la présente invention concerne des puces de réaction chimique, biologique et/ou biochimique et d'autres systèmes de réaction, tels que des systèmes à microréacteurs, ainsi que des systèmes et des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de ces dispositifs. Dans un aspect, une puce ou un autre système de réaction peut être conçu pour promouvoir la croissance cellulaire à l'intérieur de la puce ou du système. Dans certains modes de réalisation, les puces ou les autres systèmes de réaction de l'invention comprennent un ou plusieurs sites de réaction. Ces sites de réaction peuvent être très petits et présenter, par exemple, un volume inférieur à environ 1 ml. Dans un aspect de l'invention, une puce peut détecter, mesurer et/ou réguler un facteur environnemental, tel que la température, la pression, la concentration en CO¿2?, la concentration en O¿2?, l'humidité relative, le pH, etc., associé à un ou plusieurs sites de réaction. Pour ce faire, elle utilise un ou plusieurs détecteurs, actionneurs, processeurs et/ou systèmes de régulation. Dans un autre aspect, la présente invention concerne des matériaux et des systèmes permettant une régulation de l'humidité et/ou des gaz et pouvant être utilisés, par exemple, avec une puce. Ces matériaux peuvent présenter une haute perméabilité à l'oxygène et/ou une faible perméabilité à la vapeur d'eau. Dans un aspect supplémentaire, la présente invention concerne généralement des composants interagissant avec la lumière et pouvant être utilisés dans des puces et d'autres systèmes de réaction. Ces composants peuvent comprendre des guides d'ondes, des fibres optiques, des sources de lumière, des photodétecteurs, des éléments optiques, etc.
