Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de production d'énergie thermique et électrique dans une fabrique de pâte à papier, en particulier, de pâte au sulfate, procédé selon lequel la liqueur résiduelle provenant des liqueurs de cuisson de pâte de cellulose est concentrée, et cette liqueur concentrée est soumise à une cuisson dans la chaudière de récupération, en présence de combustibles biogéniques, auquel cas l'énergie thermique est récupérée des gaz de combustion, cette énergie thermique étant transformée, le cas échéant, en énergie électrique. Conformément à l'invention, le combustible biologique utilisé est de l'écorce de bois ou un bois de déchet similaire, qui est séché jusqu'à obtention d'une teneur en humidité inférieure à 30 %, puis gazéifié pour obtenir un gaz combustible, lequel alimente la chaudière de récupération. Le procédé selon l'invention rend complètement inutile, dans la fabrique de pâte à papier, l'acquisition d'une chaudière à écorces séparée, abaissant ainsi notablement les frais d'investissement. Le procédé permet en outre de simplifier l'appareillage, son fonctionnement et son entretien, et d'améliorer le rendement énergétique.
