Abstract

L'invention concerne un nouvel ADNc mucin intestinal de l'insecte. La protéine mucine intestinale de l'insecte (MII) a été identifiée et clonée au moyen de larves de T. ni. On a déterminé et découvert les séquences d'acides aminés et l'ADNc. La nouvelle protéine possède une masse moléculaire d'environ 400 kDa. Ces séquences peuvent servir à la production de vecteurs transgéniques ou recombinants, y compris des virus, des micro-organismes, des cellules, des plantes ou des animaux, lesdits virus, micro-organismes, cellules, plantes ou animaux étant le produit de l'insertion d'un vecteur d'expression génique comprenant un ADN qui code pour la séquence de la protéine MII. De ce fait, l'hôte obtenu par génie génétique de la séquence d'ADN MII est capable d'exprimer cette protéine MII sous une forme fonctionnelle. On a également trouvé utile une séquence purifiée et isolée d'ADN recombinant qui comprend une séquence d'ADN codant pour une protéine MII. La séquence utilisée d'ADN recombinant peut être une séquence d'ADNc pour MII 14 ou MII 22, SEQ. ID. Nos. 1 et 2, respectivement. La présente invention concerne également l'utilisation des séquences purifiées d'acides aminés pour MII 14 ou MII 22, SEQ. ID. Nos. 3 et 4, respectivement. Grâce à cette invention, la connaissance des composants protéiniques de la membrane péritrophique, et en particulier des protéines similaires à la mucine, on pourra améliorer l'efficacité des biopesticides obtenus par génie biologique et des vecteurs viraux recombinants, renforcer les défenses des plantes transgéniques ou protéger les insectes vecteurs vulnérables aux attaques des organismes utilisant l'enzyme "enhancine" ou similaires.
