Abstract
La présente invention concerne un groupe de gènes polycétide-synthase allongés, qui comprend un module de charge et une pluralité de modules d'élongation dans lesquels une deuxième partie d'acide nucléique, codant au moins un module d'élongation, a été insérée dans une première partie d'acide nucléique codant le module de charge et au moins un, ou de préférence plusieurs, module d'élongation. Lesdits gènes allongés conviennent pour la production de nouveaux macrolides présentant une taille plus grande que celle du produit naturel, par exemple des macrolides présentant un cycle à 16 chaînons au lieu de macrolides présentant un cycle à 14 chaînons.
