Abstract

L'invention porte sur des compostions destinées à être implantées chez un animal et comprenant un polymère biodégradable, biocompatible, qui forme un hydrogel lors de la réticulation. Selon un mode préféré, le polymère est réticulé par des ions multivalents, plus souhaitablement, un sel soluble d'un ion multivalent et un sel modérément soluble d'un ion multivalent, ces composants étant combinés pour obtenir un mélange formant un hydrogel injectable, partiellement durci, la consistance du mélange étant appropriée pour implanter le mélange d'hydrogel partiellement durci chez un animal. Cet hydrogel implanté, partiellement durci, forme in situ un hydrogel totalement durci. De préférence, le mélange contient également un agent séquestrant biocompatible qui rivalise avec le polymère biocompatible dans la liaison de l'ion de réticulation multivalent. Cette composition peut ou peut ne pas contenir de cellules vivantes. L'invention porte également sur des procédés d'implantation de la composition chez un animal, celle-ci pouvant être un implant contenant des cellules vivantes.
