Abstract
La présente invention concerne un système de suivi (1) pour animaux et carcasses d'animaux comprenant un étiquette d'oreille (1) à attacher sur un animal sur laquelle on peut graver un code (2) symbolique 2-D. Le code (2) symbolique 2-D, identificateur, gravé sur l'étiquette d'oreille (1) indique l'origine de l'animal. Un lecteur de code est installé à l'abattoir. Le système comporte également un ordinateur permettant de collecter et de stocker des informations auxquelles on peut accéder de manière à obtenir des informations sur l'origine des animaux traités à l'abattoir. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, la présente invention concerne une étiquette d'oreille en polyuréthane en forme de bouton comportant un code (2) matriciel de données symboliques 2-D. L'étiquette (1) d'oreille comporte une tige (3) permettant de percer l'oreille d'un animal et une face (4) marquée attachée à ladite tige de manière à y graver le code d'identification. L'étiquette d'oreille est fixée par une plaque (5) qui glisse sur une nervure (6) à l'extrémité de la tige. L'étiquette doit résister aux mauvais traitements infligés par les animaux lorsqu'ils sont dans un parc d'engraissement et au traitement initial dans l'usine de conditionnement.
