Abstract
Description
AND DEVICE FOR ECI ~ AIRING OF OBJECTS.
The invention relates to a method and a device for lighting objects such as monuments (churches, castles, constructions, etc ...), S natural scenes or sites for example.
It is already known to illuminate monuments by colored light beams which can be varied color, intensity and orientation more or less Slower.
l0 It is however difficult or impossible, with currently known means of lighting a surface such as a facade (building, church, etc.) with polychromatic light beams, permanent or variables over time, which highlight, 15 to frame and color at will a large number of motifs or architectural elements such as columns, windows, balconies, statues, etc.
with great precision and possibly project fixed or animated decors on surfaces 20 planar or not planar of a building, a scene, etc ...
The invention aims to respond to this need.
To this end, it offers a process lighting an object, characterized in that it consists 25 to take at least one image of the object, to submit this image to a treatment including a colorization and project the processed image onto the object by making coincide the contours and dimensions of the object with corresponding contours and dimensions of the image 30 projected.
When image processing consists of a simple colorization of certain parts of an object such as a building, the projection of the processed image on the building allows to light it while decorating it, by 35 example coloring colonnades in blue, statues in white for the characters and in color for the
En variante, les moyens de prise d'images peuvent être un appareil photographique ou 2 clothing or accessories, frames in red, windows in yellow, etc ... with such precision that, for the spectator, the impression is identical to that which a painting of these parts of the building.
The inclusion of colorful decor, for example of a fresco, in the processed image gives the impression, by projection of the processed image on the object, that the fresco was painted directly on the object.
In a first embodiment of the invention, this method consists in taking at least one photographic or cinematographic image of the object, digitize this image, process it digitally, impress a photographic or cinematographic film with the processed image, to develop this film to obtain the image treated on transparent film and to project it on the object.
As a variant, this method consists in taking minus a video image of the object, to digitize it, to digitally process and project the processed image on the object by means of a video projector or a laser beam lighting device.
The invention also provides a device for lighting an object, in particular by execution of the process described in the above, this device being characterized in that it comprises means for taking an image of the object, means of processing this image and image projection means processed on the object.
The image capture means can be video output type, such as a CCD camera, the projection means then being of the input type -video, such as a video projector or laser lighting device.
As a variant, the means for taking images can be a camera or
- la figure 1 reprsente schmatiquement la prise d'images et la projection d'images sur un objet tel qu'un btiment ;
Cette image du btiment 10, aprs un traitement appropri de colorisation ralis au moyen d'un systme 16 de traitement de l'information, est projete sur le btiment 10 de nuit ou dans l'obscurit, au moyen d'au moins un projecteur dispos l'emplacement 3 cinematographic, the processing means comprising then means for digitizing the image, digital processing of this image and exposure of a photographic or cinematographic film, the means of projection so much made up of one or more conventional optical projectors.
The invention will be better understood and others features, details and benefits will appear more clearly when reading the lo description which follows, made as an example in Reference to the accompanying drawings in which.
- Figure 1 shows schematically the taking images and projecting images onto an object such that a building;
- Figure 2 is a flowchart of main stages of the process according to the invention.
We schematically represent in Figure 1 a building 10 that we want to light up in a way especially on the occasion of any event, for example 2o example a commmoration, a feast, a sound festival and light, etc ...
For this, the invention plans to take at minus an image of a part of the Clairer building, using a camera 12 or a camera CCD type video for example, arranged relative to the building 10 in a location P such as the image of the building 10 captured by the lens 14 of the camera camera or camera 12 occupies the largest possible part of the sensitive surface on which this 3o image is form (a photographic film or a matrix CCD sensors).
This image of building 10, after a appropriate colorization treatment carried out by means of an information processing system 16, is projected on building 10 at night or in the dark, by means of at least one projector arranged the location
l'entrée d'un projecteur vidéo ou d'un dispositif ' d'éclairage à faisceaux laser comme indiqué en 28, pour 4 P above, this projector can be a projector classic (of slides), or a video projector or a laser lighting device depending on the type of the image to be projected.
The main process steps according to the invention, shown diagrammatically in FIG. 2, include a first step 18 of image taking of the building 10, followed by a development stage 20 when the image was taken using a camera photographic of a classic type that impresses a black and white or color photographic film, after which the photographic image is digitized as indicated in 22 by means of a scanning device ("scanner") and loaded into memory in the system 16 for processing information such as a microcomputer or a mini computer with graphics processing software appropriate.
When the image of building 10 is taken at by means of a CCD video camera or the like, the image obtained is scanned and loaded into the processing system information to be treated there in the desired way, as shown in 24 in Figure 2.
In addition to colorization, the treatment realized on the image of the building 10 can include, for example, chromatic balancing, modifications of the color and luminance of certain parts or certain architectural reasons for the image, inclusions picture elements, blurring, retouching, etc .... For example, window frames can be colored in yellow, columns in blue, statues in white, balconies in red, roofs in green, etc .... We can also add moiré effects, mottled or the like on certain parts of the image.
Alternatively, processing an image could also be done by hand (painting, editing, etc.) The image resulting from processing 16 can be applied, through an appropriate interface, to the input of a video projector or device '' laser beam lighting as indicated in 28, for
5 be projected onto building 10 from location P
above, or if you use a conventional projector of the slide projector type, the information processing can be linked to an imager photographic to print a film lo photographic with the image processed as indicated in 30, this film then being developed to provide an image positive on transparent film which will then be screened on building 10 from location P, preferably using objective 14 which was used for the shooting or an identical goal.
We can thus superimpose with a very large accuracy of visible building elements and corresponding elements of the processed image projected onto building.
To obtain an image projected on the building with good brightness, good rendering and good color saturation, use a projector with high light output, which leads to the use of strong projection lamps power, typically from 5,000 to 7,000 or 10,000 watts, which produce in operation a large amount of heat.
As shown schematically in Figure l, when the surface to be lit of an object is large, we sharing in adjacent areas of maximum area determined (for example about 400 m2) and we project an image on each area of this surface, using as many projectors as there are areas to be lit, this which provides both good color rendering, high brightness and high contrast.
The distance between the spotlights and the object to illuminate and the dimensions of the aforementioned areas of the object surface are usually compromises between the characteristics of the optics used, of the terrain and projection lamps. Typically, the distance maybe a few tens of meters, for example 30-40 m.
Of course, this decorative lighting of the building 10 can be variable over time, for modification of colors, their saturation, light intensity, etc.
We can project decorative lighting different by making crossfade effects, can take pictures of a building according to different angles and project the processed images successively or simultaneously respecting the angles and the shooting locations, for example for illuminate differently and at angles different the facade and a side wall of a building, 2o and we can achieve multiple special effects well known to those skilled in the art specializing in these lighting techniques by light projection and by laser beams.
It is also possible to use a cinema projector to project a film onto the object cinematographic treated as mentioned above, for example impressed by processed images of the object and / or by computer generated images, and then developed. Images initials can be photographic images, cinematographic or video.
It will be specified, by way of example, that one can use material sold under the name -"KODAK PREMIER" for scanning, processing and printing a photographic film (operations 22, 26 and 30 of FIG. 2), this material comprising a reader negative, reversible, black and white or color films
Projecting an image or images processed reproduced on film can be achieved by of a commercial projector using a strong lamp power (from a few hundred to several thousand watts).
In general, the invention allows a polychromatic decorative lighting for buildings, constructions, monuments, sculptures, scenes, etc ... or natural elements such as rocks, cliffs, etc ..., as well as the reconstruction of paintings, frescoes or animated scenes on ruins, walls of buildings, rocks, etc.
