Abstract
With the proposed invention, designed for reducing or mitigating undesirable movement of moored ships (1), the ship is provided with at least one stabilisator (1) that is unilaterally secured to a leverarm (3), orthogonally oriented in relation to the leverarm and active under waterlevel (14).
Description
~ . . .
Device for reducing or damPing undesired ship movements for shiPs IYing at anchor The invention relates to a device for reducing or damping undesired ship movements for ships Iying at anchor, with the features according to the introductory part of claim 1 to protection.
In the case of water vehicles Iying at anchor, especially of motor boats, which are equipped or not equipped with living cabins, it is - for reducing or damping the swell around a boat, which swell considerably differs in intensity in certain circumstances and is produced especially by ships or boats passing by or by suddenly arising wind - desirable and frequently necessary to so stabilise the rest position of a ship or boat that not only the stay, especially the wellbeing, of the boat occupants is suffficiently comfortable, but also that the boat equipment or fittings is or are not impaired by a wave action of that kind.
Thus, it shall be ensured that a device of that kind for stabilising undesired ship movements for boats Iying at anchor is not only effective, but also convenientlyconstructed, universally usable, technically simple and able to be manipulated without expertise.
The invention has as its object the provision of a device for reducing or damping undesired ship movements for ships or boats Iying at anchor, which device guarantees a suffficient stabilisation of the position of a ship or boat against acting wave swell and can be mounted on or subsequently fitted to ships or boats in such a manner that it neither impairs the travel operation nor has a disadvantageous visual influence on the ship or boat appearance.
This object is met by the features in the characterising part of claim 1 to protection and further advantageous details are claimed in the subclaims.
It is advantageous in the case of the new device with at least one lever arm, which is fastened at one end to a ship or boat, especially at the side, and a stabilisation body, especially plate-shaped, which is arranged at one end, especially at right angles, at the lever arm directly by way of an arm and which is disposed to be effective completely immersed in the water whilst extending suffficiently parallel to the water surface, that not only a satisfactory reduction in or damping of the boat movement is achieved by this device even in the case of a relatively strong swell, but also longitudinal and lateral movements of a boat are substantially reduced by this new device. Further of advantage is the simple construction, the simple and convenient, especially detachable or stowable, fastening of the device in the fore end region of the boat. Moreover, the simplemanipulation, not requiring expertise, of the device during casting off of a boat is advantageous, as well as the simple subsequent equipping of so-called old-fashioned boats.
Expediently, at a boat two new devices, which are arranged opposite one another to stabilise, are provided at a water vehicle, a ship or a boat and are arranged there to be fully detachable or foldable, pivotable or slidable out. If required, it is also provided that the new device is arranged to be effective also at the prow and/or stern of a ship or boat.
An example of embodiment and use of the new device stabilising the position of a boat is illustrated in the drawings and is more closely explained in the following. There:
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a device arranged at both sides or symmetrically of a ship or boat, and Fig. 2 shows a front view of the embodiment according to Fig. 1.
The device, which is illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, for reducing or damping undesired wave actions on the position of a ship or boat 1 Iying at anchor consists in detail of the lever arms 3, which are arranged symmetrically of the boat 1 one at each side in the region of the shackles 2 and which, produced especially of an aluminium frame construction, are each provided the one end thereof with a respective arm 5 consisting in particular of aluminium tube, which arms 5 extend perpendicularly to the water surface 4 or at right angles to the respective lever arms 3 and at the ends of which arms a respective flat, especially disc-shaped or plate-shaped, stabilisation body 6 is arranged at one end to be effective to reduce or damp undesired ship movements and to extend parallel to the water surface 4 and be fully immersed in the water 7.
It lies here within the scope of the invention that the arm 5 can also be arranged at another angle, other than at right angles, at one end of the arm 3. Moreover, it lies within the scope of the innovation that the lever arm 3 and/or the arm 5 is or are made of another material or material product, other than of aluminium tube.
.
The stabilisation body 6 with an outer diameter of, especially, about 60 centimetres, stands, with respect to the water surface 4, expediently about 80 centimetres deep in the water 7. The length of the respective lever arm 3 expediently amounts to about 200 centimetres. The aforesaid dimensions are standard measures according to experience.
It lies within the scope of the innovation that these dimensions are in certain circumstances dimensioned to be considerably larger or smaller for specific ship or boat sizes. In this connection it is also provided that the lever arms 3 as well are each adjustable in length especially for stepped or stepless setting of the length most favourable for damping, and for this purpose are constructed especially to be telescopic. 8 shows electrically operating position lamps there.
The new device can be provided as well in the region of the ship prow and/or ship centre and/or at the stern of a ship or boat, especially in the region of the ship mooring post. For new boats, the required fastening equipment for a device of that kind, for example shackles 2, is expediently integrated directly into a boat 1.
The device is arranged and mounted there to be foldable out or pivotable out or slidable out. In that case it is provided that the foldable, pivotable or slidable out functional movement is effected manually and/or pneumatically or hydraulically or by electric motor.
The stabilisation body 6, which is constructed especially to be flat or plate-shaped, can be produced to be round or angular and of a sheet metal or of a plastic, especially of stainless steel.
It is here within the scope of the invention that also a so-called solid body can be used instead of a disc-shaped, plate-shaped or sheet-like stabilisation body 6. A body 6 of that kind can expediently consist especially of a plastic and be solid or internally hollow. It is also conceivable here to effectively use an inflatable stabilisation body 6.
In a development of the whole, it is also conceivable that a stabilisation body 6, in particular constructed in plate shape, is equipped at the circumference 9, entirely or only in segments, with outlet nozles 10 for pressurised air and/or pressurised water. Pressurised air and/or pressurised water, which is expelled by way of the outlet nozles 10 arranged in that manner, according to experience produces additionally and in high degree a reduction or damping of undesired ship or boat movements.
