ADAPTEUR AMOVIBLE POUR LA PARTIE ÉLARGIE
D'UN BATON DB GARDIEN DE BUT DE HOC~EY
La présente invention a pour objet un adapteur amovible pour la partie élargie du bfiton d'un gardien de but de hockey.
Il est connu que les gardiens de but de hockey ont des bâtons dont la partie inférieure du manche est élargie.
Même s'il existe sur le marché des bâtons de gardien de but de tailles différentes, il n'en existe pas actuellement qui, pour une taille donnée, ont des parties élargies de hauteurs lS différentes. Or, il existe un réel besoin pour une telle possibilité d'ajustement de la hauteur de la partie élargie du bâton.
L'adapteur amovible selon l'invention vient répondre à ce besoin. Cet adapteur a plusieurs fonctions.
Tout d'abord, il permet d'individualiser le bâton de gardien de but pour permettre à chacun de choisir éventuellement un type de prise (l'endroit o~ le gardien pose sa main) adaptée à ses besoins. ~ ce sujet, on comprendra qu'il est possible de produire des adapteurs amovibles avec différents types de prises et de les adapter sur un même bâton ou sur différents bâtons.
Deuxièmement, l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention permet de rendre le bâton plus léger et donc plus maniable, puisqu'il remplace en grande partie la section elargie du bâton, est vide à l'intérieur (ou remplie d'une matière très légère) et est fabriqué d'une matière l~gère (plastique).
Troisièmement, l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention permet aux fabricants de produire des bâtons dont la partie 21 98~7~
élargie n'a qu'une seule hauteur puisqu'il rend possible d'ajuster la hauteur de la partie élargie en faisant glisser l'adapteur amovible vers le haut ou vers le bas. Il en résulte donc une économie pour eux au niveau de la production et de la S gestion de leur inventaire.
Quatrièmement, l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention permet à chaque gardien indépendamment de sa stature, de sa position de base, de la longueur de ses bras ou de ses jambes, d'ajuster la hauteur de la partie élargie de son bâton de facon à ce qu'il se retrouve dans une position de base idéale pour lui. Il en résulte un meilleur équilibre, une position plus confortable, moins de fatigue et par le fait m8me moins de blessures et de meilleures performances sportives. Les gardiens peuvent ainsi ajuster le bâton au lieu de s'ajuster au bâton.
Enfin, l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention assure que le gardien de but n'achètera pas un bâton même si la partie élargie n'est pas de la bonne hauteur parce que les détaillants d'articles de sports n'ont pas toutes les hauteurs en mains, par souci de restreindre leur inventaire ou parce qu'on est en fin de saison.
Deux exemples de réalisation pratique de l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention pour la partie élargie d'un bâton de gardien de but de hockey, sont illustrés dans les dessins annexés dans lesquels:
la Figure 1 est une vue de côté d'un adapteur amovible selon l'invention monté sur un bâton de gardien de but, cet adapteur ayant une longueur de 20";
les Figures 2 et 3 sont des vues de côté et de face en agrandi de l'adapteur de 20", illustré sur la Figure l;

la Figure 4 est une vue de côté d'un autre adapteur amovible selon l'invention monté sur un bâton de gardien de but, cet adapteur ayant une longueur de 7.5";
les Figures 5 et 6 sont des vues de côté et de face en agrandi de l'adapteur de 7.5" illustré sur la Figure 4; et la Figure 7 est une vue de côté, illustrant la façon de fixer l'adapteur selon l'invention à même la partie élargie du bâton.
Tel qu'il est illustré, l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention a la forme d'un manchon plat destiné à venir se glisser sur la partie élargie d'un bâton de hockey. Son extrémité supérieure est pourvue d'un trou dont la section est identique à celle du manche. Ce manchon a une longueur variable qui peut aller de approximativement sept pouces et demie (7 1/2 po.) à vingt pouces (20 po.), selon la demande des fabricants.
De façon générale, sa largeur n'est pas inférieur à trois pouces (3 po.) et n~excede pas trois pouces et cinq huitieme (3 5/8 po.), afin de se conformer aux exigences de l'Association Canadienne de Hockey sur Glace. L'invention n'est toutefois pas limitée à ces dimensions précises.
L'adapteur amovible selon l'invention est conçu de facon à épouser parfaitement la forme de la partie élargie du bâton de gardien de but, afin de respecter le plus possible les dimensions d~jà édictées par l'Association Canadienne de Hockey sur Glace. D'autres formes peuvent toutefois être proposées.
Il existe plusieurs facons de possibles de fixer cet adapteur amovible au bâton. Toutefois, la facon la plus simple de fixer l'adapteur, est de fixer avec du ruban adhésif (tape) sa base inférieure à même la partie élargie du bâton (voir la Figure 7 des dessins en annexe). Cette fixation peut être effectuée avec du ruban adhésif du même type que celui utilisé
pour couvrir la lame du bâton. Pour améliorer cette fixation, 21~827~
un trou rectangulaire peut être prévu près de la base du manchon (voir Figure 7), en vue d'augmenter la surface de contact du ruban avec le bâton. Selon des tests effectués par le Demandeur, cette facon de fixer l'adapteur est suffisante.
Toutefois, dans le but de renforcer la r~sistance de la partie supérieure de l'adapteur aux forces de torsion appliquées par la main du gardien, lorsqu'il veut changer l'angle de la lame, il est recommandé de fixer aussi la partie supérieure de l'adapteur avec une vis à tête plate de grand diamètre dont la longueur n'excédera pas cinq huitième de pouces (5/8 po.).
D'autres modes de fixation peuvent toutefois être utilisés.
La matière première privilégiée pour la fabrication de l'adapteur est le plastique. Toutefois, il est possible d'utiliser d'autres matières tels que l'aluminium ou la fibre de verres.
Tel qu'illustré, la forme de la "prise" (endroit où
le gardien pose sa main) de l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention de préférence suit la forme des bâtons de gardien de but existant. Toutefois, il serait possible éventuellement de proposer des prises ayant des formes différentes et variées, et qui seraient mieux adaptées en permettant une meilleure emprise sur le bâton de gardien.
L'adapteur amovible selon l'invention est de préférence complètement vide à l'intérieur. Toutefois, il est possible d'y introduire des matières légères.
Il est aussi possible d'embosser des "logos" ou des décorations sur la partie large de l'adapteur, selon les besoins des fabricants, ou d'y coller des décalques qui respectent l'esprit sportif et les principes défendus par l'Association Canadienne de Hockey sur Glace.
Comme son nom l'indique, l'adapteur amovible selon l'invention est concu de facon à pouvoir être utilisé avec différents bâtons indépendamment du fabricant. Il permet aussi à son utilisateur d'ajuster la hauteur de la partie élargie de son bâton en faisant glisser l'adapteur vers le haut ou vers le bas (avant de le fixer) de façon à trouver la hauteur idéale lui permettant d'avoir une position de base confortable et d'avoir un meilleur equilibre ce qui augmentera son endurance.
Cela a ainsi pour effet de diminuer les risques de blessures et d'augmenter les performances au jeu.
Grâce à cet adapteur, le bâton peut donc s'ajuster aux besoins du gardien, plutôt que le gardien ait à s'ajuster au bâton. On ne verra donc plus de gardien de but de modifier leur bâton de toutes sortes de manières, et pas toujours de facon sécuritaire.
On comprendra qu'il est possible de distribuer avec l'adapteur selon l'invention un pamphlet éducatif, réalisé par des spécialistes, sur la facon de déterminer la bonne hauteur que doit avoir la partie élargie, afin d'augmenter le confort de la position de base et l'équilibre du gardien. ~ i 2 1 9 8 ~
REMOVABLE ADAPTER FOR THE EXTENDED PART
OF A STICK DB GUARDIAN OF GOAL OF HOC ~ EY
The present invention relates to an adapter removable for the enlarged part of a goalkeeper's bfiton hockey.
It is known that hockey goalies have sticks with the lower part of the handle enlarged.
Even if there are goalkeeper sticks on the market different sizes, there is currently none that, for a given size, have widened parts of heights lS different. However, there is a real need for such a possibility of adjusting the height of the widened part of the stick.
The removable adapter according to the invention responds to this need. This adapter has several functions.
First of all, it allows you to individualize the stick of goalkeeper to allow everyone to choose possibly a type of socket (the place where the guardian poses his hand) adapted to his needs. ~ this subject, we will understand that it is possible to produce removable adapters with different types of sockets and adapt them on the same stick or on different sticks.
Second, the removable adapter according to the invention makes the stick lighter and therefore more manageable, since it largely replaces the enlarged section of the stick, is empty inside (or filled with a very light) and is made of a material l ~ manages (plastic).
Third, the removable adapter according to the invention allows manufacturers to produce sticks whose part 21 98 ~ 7 ~
widened has only one height since it makes possible adjust the height of the widened part by dragging the removable adapter up or down. The result therefore an economy for them in terms of production and S management of their inventory.
Fourth, the removable adapter according to the invention allows each goalkeeper regardless of his stature, his basic position, the length of his arms or legs, to adjust the height of the widened part of his stick so to be in an ideal base position for him. The result is better balance, a more comfortable, less fatigue and therefore less injuries and better sports performance. The gardians can adjust the stick instead of adjusting the stick.
Finally, the removable adapter according to the invention ensures that the goalkeeper will not buy a stick even if the game is not the right height because retailers of sports articles do not have all the heights in hand, for the sake of restricting their inventory or because we are in end of season.
Two practical examples of the adapter removable according to the invention for the enlarged part of a stick hockey goalie, shown in the drawings annexed in which:

As illustrated, the removable adapter according to the invention has the form of a flat sleeve intended to come slide over the widened portion of a hockey stick. His upper end is provided with a hole whose cross section is identical to that of the handle. This sleeve has a variable length which can range from approximately seven and a half inches (7 1/2 in.) to twenty inches (20 in.), as requested by the manufacturers.
Generally speaking, its width is not less than three inches (3 in.) and not more than three and five eighths (3 5/8 in.), In order to comply with the requirements of the Canadian Ice Hockey Association. The invention is not however not limited to these precise dimensions.
The removable adapter according to the invention is designed to how to perfectly fit the shape of the enlarged part of the goalkeeper's stick, in order to respect as much as possible the dimensions already enacted by the Canadian Hockey Association on ice. Other forms may however be proposed.
There are several possible ways to fix this removable stick adapter. However, the simplest way to fix the adapter, is to fix with adhesive tape (tape) its lower base even on the widened part of the stick (see Figure 7 of the attached drawings). This attachment can be made with tape of the same type as that used to cover the blade of the stick. To improve this fixation, 21 ~ 827 ~
a rectangular hole may be provided near the base of the sleeve (see Figure 7), in order to increase the surface of contact of the tape with the stick. According to tests carried out by Applicant, this way of attaching the adapter is sufficient.
However, in order to strengthen the resistance of the game of the adapter to the torsional forces applied by the keeper's hand, when he wants to change the angle of the blade, it is recommended to also fix the upper part of the adapter with a large diameter flat head screw, the length will not exceed five eighths of an inch (5/8 in.).
Other fixing methods can however be used.
The preferred raw material for manufacturing of the adapter is plastic. However, it is possible to use other materials such as aluminum or fiber glasses.
As illustrated, the shape of the "plug" (where the guard puts his hand) of the removable adapter according to the invention preferably follows the shape of goalkeeper sticks existing goal. However, it would be possible eventually to offer plugs with different and varied shapes, and which would be better adapted by allowing better grip on the goalkeeper's stick.
The removable adapter according to the invention is preferably completely empty inside. However, it is possible to introduce light materials.
It is also possible to emboss "logos" or decorations on the wide part of the adapter, according to manufacturers' needs, or to stick decals on them respect the sportsmanship and the principles defended by the Canadian Ice Hockey Association.
As the name suggests, the removable adapter according to the invention is designed so that it can be used with different sticks regardless of the manufacturer. It also allows user to adjust the height of the widened part of his stick by sliding the adapter up or towards the bottom (before fixing) so as to find the ideal height allowing him to have a comfortable base position and to have a better balance which will increase his endurance.
This has the effect of reducing the risk of injury and increase game performance.
Thanks to this adapter, the stick can therefore be adjusted needs of the caretaker, rather than the caretaker having to adjust batting. We will no longer see a goalkeeper modify their stick in all kinds of ways, and not always safe way.
We will understand that it is possible to distribute with the adapter according to the invention an educational pamphlet, produced by specialists, on how to determine the right height that the widened part must have in order to increase the comfort of the basic position and balance of the goalkeeper.
