Abstract

Le bois panneauté à haute résistance est un matériau de construction caractérisé par des propriétés mécaniques et physiques de beaucoup supérieures au bois conventionnel (commodités) et pouvant compétitionner les bois ingéniérés les plu s performants sur le marché nord-américain. Dans la présent invention, les caractéristiques du bois ainsi que la conception du produit sont optimisées afin d'atteindre de hauts standard de performance. Le b ois panneauté à haute résistance est conçu à partir d'essences résineuses provenant de la forêt québécoise, essences ayant les fibres les plus denses en Amérique du No rd. Dans une première étape, la préparation des pièces de bois consiste à enlever le s caractéristiques affectant la résistance et la stabilité de la pièce de bois tel les les noeuds, la flache, la carie (pourriture), les gerces, la déviation du fil et la compression. Dans une deuxième étape, les surfaces des pièces de bois devant être collées son t rabotées avec une très grande précision. Dans une troisième étape, l'assemblage consiste à presser latéralement, sur leur s faces étroites, les pièces de bois (exemptes de défauts et enduites de colle) et à sécher le joint de colle afin d'assurer le durcissement. La dernière étape consiste à déligner les pièces de bois panneauté selon la larg eur désirée et à raboter chaque pièce selon les dimensions normalisées. Les avantages majeurs de cette invention pour les utilisateurs sont les suivants : ~ capacité d'utiliser une quantité moindre de bois dans une construction pour un niveau équivalent de résistance ~ capacité d'utiliser des portées plus longues dans les planchers (élément de poutrelles en I) et dans la toiture (élément de fermes de toit ou trusses) ~ capacité d'espacer encore davantage les montant ou colombages dans les murs ~ capacité d'utiliser des montants plus droits dans les systèmes de murs montés en usine ~ produit non-réglementé par les quotas d'exportation américain ~ produit permettant un récupération accrue de sciage et une réduction de la production de copeaux
