~ Te and serraqe device deu ~ c strands of a circle, split, glasses holder glasses.
1a invention relates to a device assembly and tightening of the two strands of a split circle, spectacle lens holder, wherein said assembly is secured by a screw taking in one of the strands of said circle and crossing a passage in the other, a device elastic being interposed between the second strand of the circle and the b ~ te of said screw so that the clamping force is det ~ rm; n ~ e by the tension of said elastic device. ~ -Clamping devices for the two strands of a glasses holder circle of the aforementioned type are known per se. European patent application No 0 246 688, as well as the French patent application No 2,271,594, describe such provisions.
The object of the present invention is to improve the safety of such assembly devices by ensuring a blocking of the assembly screw.
This goal is achieved thanks to the fact that the screw protrudes the strand of the circle into which it is screwed, this screw pre-feeling, located flush with the face of said strand on which it MaDlFlE SHEET

Another object of the invention is to provide a such assembly screw locking device which is effective despite variations in position that may present the screw when the desired tightening is achieved.
This other goal is achieved thanks to the fact that the width of the annular groove in the screw shank is such that this groove is partially located inside laughing at the strand of the circle in which the screw is screwed, such that, according to the longitudinal position of said screw with respect to said = strand, circlips of different thicknesses annuities can be used to ensure a locking effective level of ViS.
The drawing represents, for example, a shape of execution of the subject of the invention and a variant.

Fig. 2 is an axial section of a first embodiment of the assembly and clamping device of the two strands of the glasses holder circles of the glasses felt in fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is an axial section, similar to that of fig. 2, of a variant of this assembly device, and Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a detail of this variant.
The face part of the glasses shown ~ the fig. 1, ~ nPP generally ~ 1, includes two split glass holder circles with two designated strands by la and lb, respectively. These two glass holder circles are joined by a nasal bridge lc.
The assembly and tightening of the two strands la and lb of each of the cup circles are secured by a screw 2, of which only the front part, designated by 2a, is threaded, which is screwed into the strand of the circle.
The strand 1b of the circle has a circular clearance.

of the screw, designated by 2b. Finally, the threaded part 2a of the screw 2 extends beyond the strand la in which it is screwed, its projecting part ~ L ~ S ~ ..Lt- ~ L, flush of the outer face 6 of the strand la, a groove ~ nnl-1A; re 7 in which a clip washer 8 is engaged, known as a circlip. The width or height of this groove 7 is such that part of it is located inside the strand 1a of the glass holder circle.
Thanks to this arrangement, the optician wishing to mount a glass, such as glass 9 ,, e par engage screw 2, fitted with spring 5, in strand lb of the glass holder circle and then begins screwing in the opinion. The two strands of the glass holder circle then remain slightly apart from each other, the spring 5 not being not yet compressed, which can accommodate ~ L on glass 9 in the circle.
Holding the latter in one hand, the optician exerts a light pressure on the two strands la and lb and, with the other hand, screw the screw 2 using a screwdriver.
It interrupts the operation when resistance to screwing indicates that a suitable spring tension 5 is reached.

The optician then chooses, in a set of circlips 8 of different thicknesses available, the one whose thickness corresponds to the width of the part of the throat ~ nn ~; re 7 of the protruding screw from side 6 of strand 1a of the glass-holder circle. He puts in place, in groove 7, the circlip ~ which he will have chosen, this circlip thus ensuring the locking of the screw preventing that it does not loosen untimely.
It is necessary to be able to have circlips of different thicknesses because the longitu-final dinal of the screw 2 with respect to the strand la of the circle glass holder varies depending on various factors, such that the manufacturing tolerances of the frame glasses and glasses, the pressure an optician wants see apply to glass, etc.
Thanks to this arrangement, the mounting glasses is extl, easy and can be done without risk of deterioration thereof. In addition, variations of voltage due to temperature differences are without harmful effects on glasses since absorbed by spring 5.

Experience shows that the latter plays: a r81e shock absorber protecting the glass during of a possible fall of the glasses.
The variant of figs. 3 and 4 differs from the first embodiment by the fact that the spring of reminder 5 is replaced by a cambered washer 10 in the recess 3 of the strand 1b of the glass holder circle.
This washer, engaged on the rod of the screw 2, is inter-placed between the head 2b of the screw and the bottom of this hollow sure 3. It has the advantage, compared to the coil spring of the first embodiment, of not only solicit-axially screw 2 to prevent it from turning on it-even, creating friction on the threads of the screw taking in the strand of the glass holder circle, but to produce a direct connection, by friction, between the screw and the strand lb thanks to the fact that when slightly crushed by the head of the screw, it pinches through its central hole the screw rod and force, by its periphery, on the wall lateral of the hollow 3. This therefore results in a double effect friction ~ mrê ~ -h ~ nt the screw to loosen untimely.
This screw blocking effect is further supplemented by a circlip engaged in a groove Ann ~; re screw, like in the embodiment of f ig. 2.
