Abstract

Un abonné à un téléphone mobile ou à des services de communication personnelle qui souhaite une assistance annuaire est relié de manière classique à un opérateur qui identifie un numéro de téléphone de destination souhaité par l'abonné. Comme connu dans l'antériorité, l'opérateur déclenche alors un appel reliant l'abonné au numéro de téléphone de destination. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, l'opérateur localise un numéro de téléphone de destination souhaité dans une base de données informatique et peut sélectionner la numérotation automatique du numéro localisé. En outre, plutôt que d'abandonner toute implication supplémentaire avec l'appel, le mode de réalisation préféré de la présente invention surveille en permanence la liaison ainsi établie pour un signal DTMF prédéterminé émis par le client, tel que celui obtenu en appuyant sur la touche « * ». Si un tel signal est détecté, le client est transféré à un opérateur d'assistance annuaire qui peut fournir toute assistance supplémentaire nécessaire (p. ex. assistance annuaire supplémentaire). Si un signal occupé ou de non-réponse du correspondant est détecté, une pluralité de choix est donnée à un client, y compris le fait de laisser un message ou une page enregistré, ou un message ou une page alphanumérique prédéterminé pour le correspondant appelé. Dans ce cas, le système essaye automatiquement, à plusieurs reprises, de délivrer le message ou la page enregistré et, en option, confirme à l'appelant le succès ou l'échec de la livraison du message.
