Abstract

Oxyde de zinc aggloméré colloïdal présentant une taille d'agglomérat moyenne inférieure à 100 nanomètres (nm), et de préférence à 60 nm, et son procédé de production. L'oxyde de zinc colloïdal transmet plus de 75 %, et de préférence plus de 85 % de la lumière dans le domaine visible du spectre (la lumière entre 390 et 800 nm de longueur d'onde), et moins de 5 %, de préférence de 3 %, de la lumière dont la longueur d'onde est comprise, dans le domaine de l'ultraviolet, entre 190 et 390 nm, lorsqu'il est testé à 0,1 % dans de l'huile minérale. Ce matériau est produit par traitement thermique du carbonate de zinc de manière à obtenir de l'oxyde de zinc. Cet oxyde de zinc est ensuite combiné avec un agent dispersant à l'acide polyacrylique et broyé pour produire un oxyde de zinc colloïdal.
