Abstract
Re: Application for Patent on Instant Sub Flooring.
Abstract:
In the flooring industry it is known that many methods have been implemented to provide insulation or heat to concrete flooring. It is also known several varying chemical compounds (paint, adhesives, bonding agents and sealers) have been used toreduce the moisture secretion from concrete as sealing the concrete was imperative to ensure moisture did not hamper or disturb the finished floor surfacing materials used, eg. tiles, hardwood, linoleum, underlayment or carpet, together with their respective bonding or sealing agents. It is also known the primary material used to produce a sub floor of minimal hiegth on a concrete base is wood studs with a plywood cover sheeting.
In this invention, the Instant Sub Flooring material is impermeable to moisture but still allows air movement to flow between the spaces to naturally dry the moisture secretion from the concrete, allowing floor finishers to complete their job without worrying about moisture presence. The newly invented Sub Flooring material is 3/8" in hiegth which provides an insulating barrier of air between the concrete base floor and the floor finishing materials. It also provides a reduced hiegth factor. Instant Sub Flooring also prevents mildew smells and carpet rot because of the raised floor. The design also provides super strength capabilities for heavy loading.

This invention relates to the installation of sub flooring on primarily concrete based floors, although not restricted as it can be used on top of all other types of finished floor surfaces.
It is common to produce a sub floor on concrete by utilizing 2" X 4" wood stud sleepers on 16" centres with a 5/8" thick surface plywood. This method is very labour intensive, costly and inefficient. The resulting floor hiegth is too high and the wood sleepers are subject~wicking and wood rot. People have also added, at great expense, electrical pads and hot water piping laced through the concrete to create warmth in their concrete flooring, as it is common knowledge that concrete draws any and all available heat sources.
I have found that these disadvantages may be overcome by using my specially designed Instant Sub Flooring material. My Instant Sub Flooring is moisture resistant preventing mildew smells, wicking and floor rot. Its special design provides a 3/8"
lower hiegth insulating barrier of air holding warm air in the room maintaining warmth in the room. Instant Sub Flooring is far less costly and extremely easier to apply than any of the before mentioned methods as you simply roll out a 4 foot wide piece off the master roll, cut it to length or shape with a utility knife, lay it down directly on the concrete with or with out the aid of chemical or mechanical fasteners. Instant Sub Flooring helps retain room and floor warmth without electricity or hot water assistance and proves to be extremely comfortable to stand on even in bare feet. My Instant Sub Flooring is also very durable withstanding tremendous wieght loads.

Instant Sub Flooring, 3. particle board (plywood), 4. underlay (foam type), 5. carpet (tile, linoleum, hardwood). Figure 2 is a top view of the Instant Sub Flooring (refered to as Warmfoot) showing the spacing and diameter of the multi dimpled surface.
Figure 3 is a side view showing the depth of each dimple and the spacing between each pyramid shaped cone adding strength.
Figure 4 is a bottom view showing the size of the base of the cone. Figure 5 is a larger overview of figure 1, showing a three dimensional v-iew of the Instant Sub Flooring (Warmfoot) sandwiched between concrete, item 1 and underlayment partical board item 3.
