Abstract
Le procédé est destiné à l'exploitation de gisement souterrain dont l'extraction est rendue difficile par le caractère radioactif et/ou toxique du gisement et/ou par les conditions géotechniques. On constitue, par injection de liant hydraulique et/ou par congélation, un caisson (C) étanche confinant tout ou partie du gisement et on draine éventuellement le gisement ; on traverse de part en part le gisement par creusement direct d'un premier tunnel à l'aide d'un tunnelier ; on retourne le tunnelier après traversée du gisement et on creuse directement un tunnel adjacent au premier, et ainsi de suite ; si le gisement contient un produit radioactif, dangereux ou toxique, on réduit le matériau extrait en pulpe au fur et à mesure de l'abattage et on l'évacue par transport hydraulique.
