Abstract

ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE

A device to restore the integrity of the working edge of a worn wiperblade.

Said device consists of an abrasive strip which is mounted in a handgrip.

Description

2,~37~

SPECIFIC~TION

This present invention relates to a device to restore the function of worn wiperblades. lhe worn wiper assemblies are then discarded in our environment.

Replacement of e.g. automobile windshield wipers, is usually done by auto mechanics because of the difficulty ~ost people have to perform such a task.

The device of the present invention can be applied instantly by anyone when streaking of the glass starts to occur, even in wet weather.

In the case of automobiles and trucks, a feature of safety becomes apparent.

Said device of the present invention may be used for several seasons, thereby saving money and enYironment.

20 A worn wiperblade has a rounded wiping edge, but a new or restored wiperblade has a keen square edge.

Said device, commercially referred to as Wiper RestorerTM is shown on the drawing as FIG.A. To operate said device of FI~.A, the device is manually positioned over the working edge of a wiperblade.

2~37~

With a reciprocating motion along the edge of said wiperblade, an amount of polymer is beiDg removed from said wiperblade, creating a keen square edge on the working surface the wiperbla~e.

Claims

This invention as exemplified by a preferred embodiment is described with reference to FIG.A of the drawing, in which:

(Claim 1) Member 1 consists of an abrasive strip which function it is, to remove an amount of polymer from the working edge of a wiperblade (Claim 2) Member 2 is a handgrip as well as receptacle for member 1. 1 Said member 2 keeps the abrasive strip in its place.

(Claim 3) Reference 3 represents two cheeks of a resiliently foamed polymer, that conforms to the contour of most wiperblades. 4 Said cheeks keep wiperblades perpendicularly positioned to the abrasive strip 1.
This positioning is absolutely essential to obtain a square edge on a wiperblade being restored.
