Abstract

A device, particularly for a semimounted reversible plow, wherein the plowing width of the plow can be varied, and wherein the plow comprises a carriage adapted to be pivotally supported on a traction vehicle and, at the rear end thereof, is equipped with a rear wheel. The plow further comprises a plow frame whereto a number of sockets with plow bodies are pivotally mounted, a parallel strut being pivotally connected to the sockets. At its trailing edge, the plow frame is pivotally and slidably connected to the carriage and, at its leading edge, the plow frame is in pivotal and displaceable connection with an arm on the carriage. A strut is pivotally attached to the parallel strut and to a bracket displaceable on the arm, and controls the angular rotation of the plow bodies during plowing width adjustment, so that the width of the furrow from the foremost plow body becomes as large as the width of the furrows from the following plow bodies.

Description

_ - 1 - 73577-4 This invention relates to a device, particularly for a semimounted reversible plow, in which the plowing width may be varied infinitely.
Devices for infinitely variable adjustment of the plow-ing width of semi-plows are known, but these devices are less appropriate, in that the adjustment has to be effected partially by hand, or the adjustment is complex to effect.
The object of the invention is to provide a device, particularly for a semimounted reversible plow, in which the plow-ing width of the plow may be infinitely varied in a simple mannerduring plowing, so that the width of the furrow from the foremost plow body becomes as large as the width of the furrows from the subsequent plow bodies.
In accordance with the invention, the plow comprises a carriage adapted to be pivotally supported on a traction vehicle and, at the rear end thereof, is equipped with a rear wheel. A strut is pivotally attached to the parallel strut and to a bracket displaceable on the arm, and controls the angular rotation of the plow bodies during plowing width adjustment, so that the width of the furrow from the foremost plow body becomes as large as the ~' 2027~75 _ - 2 - 73577-4 width of the furrows from the following plow bodies.
An embodiment of the invention is diagrammatically shown in the attached drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a top plan view showing a four-share semimounted reversible plow having a device according to the invention; and Figure 2 is a plan view of a part of the plan of Figure 1 on a larger scale.
In the drawings, reference numeral 1 denotes the carriage of the semimounted reversible plow, the foremost end of which is pivotally supported in the three-point coupling 3 of a tractor 2 by means of a first bolt 4. The rear end of the carriage 1 is equipped with a rear wheel 5.
Further, the semimounted reversible plow comprises a plow frame 6 which at its rear end, when reversing the plow, is adapted to pivot around a first shaft 7 attached to a sleeve 8, which is slidably arranged to and fro on the carriage 1. At its front end, the plow frame 6 is adapted to pivot around a second bolt 9 attached to a first bracket 10. First bracket 10 is dis-placeably attached on a second bracket 11, which again is dis-placeably attached on a lifting arm 12. The lifting arm 12 is pivotally supported on a second shaft 13 fixed on the carriage 1.
By means of two single-acting hydraulic cylinders 14,15 - which on the one hand are pivotally attached to the lifting arm 12 and on the other hand are pivotally attached to the carriage 1, and which, moreover, are coupled to the hydraulic system of the 202747~
_ _ 3 : 73577-4 tractor 2 - the plow frame 6 may be rotated 180 to and fro about the first shaft 7 and second shaft 13.
A number of sockets 16 are pivotally attached on the plow frame 6, and double plow bodies 17 are connected thereto. For clarity, the uppermost plow body is not shown. A parallel strut 18 is pivotally connected to all sockets 16 so that all of them, and, consequently, all of the plow bodies 17, occupy the same angle in relation to the plow frame 6. The angular rotation of the sockets 16 and, consequently, the plow bodies 17 is controlled by a strut 19 - preferably in the form of a turnbuckle - which at one end is pivotally attached to the parallel strut 18, or to a projection 20 on the latter, and at the other end is pivotally attached to the second bracket 11 which is displaceable on the lifting arm 12. Pivotal attachment points of the strut 19 to the parallel strut 18, or to a projection 20 on the latter, and to second bracket 11 are found by selecting one attachment point of the strut 19, preferably the attachment point to second bracket 11. The other attachment point of the strut 19 to the parallel strut 18, or to a projection 20 on the latter, is located experi-mentally by drawing the plow in correct position in differentplowing widths, and then finding a point on the parallel strut 18 or on a projection 20 on thc latter, wherein the distance between these attachment points becomes the same or approximately the same in all of the different positions of the plow. This is only feas-ible when the angle ~ between the carriage 1 and the displacement direction of second bracket 11 along the lifting arm 12 exceeds 90, e.g. 97 202~475 When a plow having a device in accordance with the invention is mounted on a tractor 2, and a first plowing pull, the laying up, is effected, the position of second bracket 11 in rela-tion to lifting arm 12 must be adjusted by means of a screw 21, so that the plow bodies 17, especially the foremost, come into the correct initial position in relation to the wheels of the tractor 2 and, consequently, to the furrow plowed during the laying up, so that the width of the furrow from the foremost plow body 17 becomes as large as the width of the furrows from the following plow bodies 17. As first bracket 10 is attached on second bracket 11, first bracket 10 follows displacements of second bracket 11 during the adjustment. It is only necessary to make this adjust-ment the first time the plow is mounted on the tractor 2.
When the plowing width is to be altered, this may be done during plowing through displacing first bracket 10 in rela-tion to second bracket 11 by means of a hydraulic cylinder 22.
The latter is coupled to the hydraulic system of the tractor 2, and is attached at one end thereof to first bracket 10 at the other end thereof to second bracket 11. When displacing first bracket 10, the plow frame 6, which by means of second bolt 9 is pivotally connected to first bracket 10, alters its angle in rela-tion to the plowing direction; and the strut 19, which is pivot-ally connected to second bracket 11, will, through the inter-mediary of the projection 20 and the parallel strut 18, cause an angular rotation of the sockets 16 and, consequently, of the plow bodies 17 in relation to the plow frame 6. This rotation of the _ _ 5 _ 73577-4 plow bodies 17 results in that they try to move in the opposite direction to the movement of first bracket 10, pulling the carriage 1 laterally in the opposite direction to the movement of first bracket 10, the carriage 1 pivoting about first bolt 4 which is connected to the three-point coupling 3 of the tractor 2, so that the width of the furrow from the foremost plow body 17 becomes as large as the width of the furrows from the following plow bodies 17. The rotation of the carriage 1 stops when the plow bodies 17 have arrived at a new stable position.

Through the device according to the invention, a new semimounted reversible plow has been provided, wherein the plowing width of the plow, in an extremely simple manner, may be varied infinitely during plowing, so that the width of the furrow from the foremost plow body becomes as large as the width of the furrows from the following plow bodies.
