, Bogie with two steerable axles ~, pivotally mounted under a body of a railway vehicle.
The present invention relates to a bogie with two steerable axles, pivotally mounted 90U9 a body of a railway vehicle, comprising a chassis connected to each axle via two boxes;
axles and primary suspension, two articulated devices each connecting the two axle boxes located on the same side of the chassis, and a control device for the two articulated devices abutments.
We know, in particular from FIG. 7 of document FR-2,510,962, such a bogie whose two articulated devices are controlled by the rotation of the body around the central vertical axis of the bogie. The control device is therefore installed on the crown swivel, between body and chassis, and it has two levers horizontal which act on the two articulated devices.
This fully mechanical control device does not allow not to transmit significant efforts to orient the axle, and we are then forced to set up, between the chassis and axle boxes, a primary suspension with low stiffness.
Although the stiffness of the suspension is low, the speed alignment stability criticism is nevertheless quite high because the two articulated devices provide a role of stability.
But, in the event of a failure of an articulated device or its control device, the low stiffness of the suspension primary imposes a low critical speed.
To obtain a significant critical speed, therefore a bogie stable at high speed, increase the stiffness of the suspension primary but also set up a capable control device to distort this suspension.
To achieve this object, the present invention proposes to remove the two horizontal control levers linked to the crown pivot, and to operate the two articulated devices using at least one actuator controlled by a sensor-transmitter of information tions. We have proposed, in the document SOVIET lNV ~ NllONS ILLUSTRATED,

This possibility of orientation is insufficient, especially when the track has a large radius of curvature because the axles of the bogie remain parallel to each other.
An object of the invention is to produce a bogie in which each of the axles is oriented independently of the other.
According to the present invention, a bogie is provided.
with two swiveling axles, pivotally mounted under a body of a railway vehicle, comprising a chassis connected to each axle via two axle boxes and a primary suspension, two articulated devices each connecting the two axle boxes located in the same side of the chassis, and a control device for both articulated devices to converge the axles in curves, characterized in that the control device comprises at least one jack connected to the bogie chassis and exerting its action on the devices articulated, the cylinder being controlled by a sensor assembly-transmitter of information, the sensor being on board the bogie and the transmitter being placed at a fixed post at the entrance of a track curve.
To avoid mechanical transmission of a force between the cylinder and each lifter of an articulated device, preferably the control device has two cylinders, the two cylinders being coupled and controlled by the sensor-transmitter assembly, each cylinder acting on a articulated device.
It is described below, by way of example and in reference to the accompanying drawings, a bogie according to the invention fitted with two cylinders.

Figure 2 shows the same bogie, seen from the side.
Figure 3 shows a primary suspension according to III of Figure 2.
Figure 4 shows a spar of the bogie, in section according to IV of Figure 2.
In Figure 1, the bogie chassis is consisting of two beams 1 connected by a cross lower 2. The body is connected to the bogie by via a pivoting crown 3 of axis vertical center 4. This crown is integral with a ~ -: upper crosspiece 5. This crosspiece 5 is supported, ~ each . ~ of its extremities, _ ~

on a side member 1 of the chassis by means of a spring 6 forming ~ secondary uspension. This chassis carries two axles 7, each axle being carried by two axle boxes 8.
Two axle boxes 8 are visible in FIG. 2 and only one is represented in figure 3, this one being connected elastically to the chassis by four elastic blocks 9 constituted elastomeric elements separated by steel plates. Figure 2 shows that a spar comprises, at each of ~ es ends, a insert 10 which receives two elastic blocks 9.
Each axle 7 carries two wheels 11 and a motor-reduction unit.
12.
The two axles can be swiveled as long as the axle main 21 of an axle can pivot around a fictitious vertical axis cal 20 and with a small clearance, as shown by the two extreme positions 22, 23 which each axle axis 21 can reach.
This low pivoting is ensured for an axle, by two connecting rods 30, 31, the connecting rod 30 being fixed to a box and housed in a spar, the connecting rod 31 being fixed to the other box; te and housed in the other spar.
Each connecting rod is articulated on a lifting beam 32, and each spreader also receives another connecting rod. An articulated device, comprising a lifting beam 32, a connecting rod 30 and a connecting rod 31, is then housed in a spar and it activates an axle box each axle as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 4 shows a spar 1 consisting of an assembly of four plates welded together, an upper plate 1A, 2 lB sidewalls and a 1C bottom plate. This spar contains a spreader 32 and the two connecting rods 30, 31, the swivel spreader about an axis 33 and being actuated by a jack 34 mounted externally laughter of the lC plate, as is clearly visible in figure 2. This cylinder is supplied with fluid by a source not shown, and through a servo valve not shown.
The bogie also includes an on-board sensor 41 and a electronic box, not shown, controlling the two servo-valves.
The channel is provided with a transmitter 42.

4 2û15264 The sensor-transmitter assembly can be of the barcode type, electromagnetic, or waveguide.
Such a bogie works in the following way:
at the entry of a curve, the transmitter delivers a signal giving the characteristics of this curve and the sensor receives this signal.
The electronic box processes it and controls the servo-valves which each order a cylinder.
In Figure 2, the output of the cylinder rod 34 approximates the two wheels 11, which must correspond to a re-entry of the rod in the opposite jack to move the other two wheels away, and of the same value, in order to obtain a pivoting of each axle around the imaginary axis 20.
At the end of the curve, the cylinders are reactivated in the direction opposite, to bring back the two parallel axles.
In the event of a failure of an articulated device or its control device when the train is traveling at high speed, the stiffness of the primary suspension is then sufficient to the bogie remains stable in alignment.
