Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a door lining for an automobile having a smooth outer surface, a generally flat bottom surface which merges through curved end sections into left side and right side surfaces; the left side surface has a smooth curved depression extending most of the height of the door lining; the right side surface is generally flat and extends upwards and to the right; the door lining has a narrow, generally flat upper surface which widens gradually along its length from right to left to a pointed area situated near the left side surface of the door lining before narrowing from the pointed area to a downwardly rounded end portion which merges into the upper left side surface of the door lining; the lining extends downwards through a corner area along the length of the flat upper surface and widens gradually from left to right along its length to the right side surface of the door lining; the lining then merges into an ovate-shaped smooth concave area which widens from right to left and extends most of the width of the door lining; the lower surface of the concave area extends forwards of the upper edge of the concave area; a narrow outwardly curved member extends upwards and to the left across the concave area; the lower surface of the concave area curves upwards from adjacent the lower end of the curved member towards the left side surface of the door lining and merges into a scalloped area which extends to the left side surface of the door lining; a narrow flat ledge portion extends downwards and to the left from the right end of the concave area and widens gradually near the lower end thereof before merging into a generally ovate area situated adjacent the lower left corner of the door lining; the narrow ledge portion merges through a sharp corner into a downwardly extending flat portion which extends the length of the ledge portion and widen from left to right; the flat portion in turn merges into a scalloped section which widens from adjacent the generally ovate area to the right side surface of the door lining; the generally ovate area generally follows the configuration of the ovate-shaped concave area and has a peripheral groove which defines an inner ovate shape having beveled sides which generally follows the contour of the ovate area; the inner ovate shape has a central slightly raised area having a generally flat surface and a rounded left end spaced close to the left end of the inner ovate shape.
