Description

We know a process for manufacturing a tray non-slip service that stack sheets paper coated or impregnated with thermosetting resins, for example melamine and phenolic resins. We superimpose to this stacking a flexible canvas covered at least on its upper side of a porous layer in a thermo-plastic like PVC, hot pressed in a mold ble thus obtained in a way, on the one hand, to be transformed by poly-merisation, in synthetic rubber with raised parts of said layer, and, on the other hand, to give ~ the mati.ère laminate its final shape ~ The trays obtained by this process have the following qualities: rigidity, lightness, good mechanical and chemical resistance, and above all excellent anti-peeling properties.
However, this process has a very disadvantage important: during molding, it emerges, at the level of sheets coated or impregnated with resin, gases and vapors which cannot escape completely and which bubbles form trapped in the PVC layer on the surface or its support. When the tray is unmolded, -these bubbles create surface inequalities which harm the aesthetics of the set The method according to the present invention, which implements implements the above operations, avoids radical-this drawback.
According to the present invention, there is provided a method of manufacture of a non-slip serving tray according to which is stacked with coated or impregnated sheets of paper thermosetting resins, this stack is superimposed a flexible cloth covered at least on its upper face a layer of a porous thermoplastic, we press hot in a mold the whole thus obtained in fa ~ on, of a ~ il6 ~ 2 hand, to trans ~ form the connected parts of said layer, by synthetic rubber polymerization, and ~ other hand, to give the laminated material its ~ final elm, characterized by the ~ has that said canvas and said layer have perforations whose density is included between 5 and 10 per cm2 and the diameter of the holes is d 7 about 0.1 to 0.2 mm The invention also relates to a tray of non-slip service obtained by this process.
The examination of a plate obtained by the process according to the invention shows that the perforations, after playing their role during the release of gases and vapors, have disappeared at the end of the molding under the effect of heat and pressure A particular implementation of the method according to the present in ~ ention is as follows:
a) we fill from the bottom up the leaves of papie.r impregnated with melamine resin, paper pins phenolic resin impregnated, the last most char ~ ee than the previous ones, b) a stacked canvas is superimposed on this stack.
on its upper face with a porous layer of PVC, if any-decorated, for example presenting the appearance of wood, this canvas and PVC layer being per ~ orées at a rate of 8 to 10 holes from 0.1 to 0.2 mm in diameter per cm2, c) this ~ nsemble is placed on the mold of the mold, then the hot press by means of a punch, at a temperature of the order of 140C, and under a pressure of about 60 kg / cm2, for about ten minutes, we remove the mold tray and let it 5.

cool. The non-slip surface of the plate obtained does not has no bubbles or irregularities.
In another particular implementation of the method according to the invention, the molding is carried out in two stages, as follows:
a) first pressing at least part of the stack sheets coated or impregnated with resin by superimposing it a protective sheet of paper, for example paper chimney, to é ~ iter that the resin sticks to the punch of the hurry, b) the punch is raised and the sheet is removed protective, this leaf is replaced by the rest of the leaves coated or impregnated with resin covered with said canvas, d) the final molding is carried out.
