- la figure 1 représente, partiellement en coupe axiale, une tétine selon l'invention - la ~igure 2 reprégente à une plu~ grande échelle, en ooupe axiale, l'extrémité de la ~étine où est ménagée la fente d'alimentation;

En se référant au dessin annexé, on voit que l'on a dé3igné par 1 dan~ son ensemble une tétine selon 1'invention réalisée en caoutchouc ~ouple. ~a tétine 1 comporte de façon classique un mamelon 2, qui est ~oumi~ aux mouvements de ~uccion de l'enfant. Sur l'extrémité libre du mamelon 2 est ménagée une - fente rectiligne 3 s'étendant dans un plan axial de la tétine 1 .;

~ a pre ~ ente invention relates to a pacifier variable and adjustable We already know ~ teats ~ variable flow and re-glable, intended ~ ~ fit on a feeding bottle infants. Such teats have, as an orifice of the food contained in the bottle, for example milk or porridge, a narrow slit whose position is adjusted tion relative to the infant's lips, thanks to ~ benchmarks which are provided either on the nipple itself, or on its clamp, or still on the bottle. ~ e setting of the position of the slot ensures u ~ e variation of the flow of the pacifier by a rain ~ or me ~ s large opening of the slot ~
each of the sucking movements of the child's lips. ~ a slot e ~ t generally made ~ ur protubera ~ this rounded as forms the nipple of the tétlne: the slit of ~! / feeding is therefore practiced ~ on the convex end wall substantially ~ spherical from the tip of the teat, ~ es teats with variable flow ~ ble of this kind include most often three ~ positions of use: a position of minimum flow usually indicated by the reference l, for which the slit hardly opens, since the lips of the fant are then parallel to the feed slot; a posi-tion of maximum flow indicated most often by the reference 3, in which the infant's lips are perpendicular to the ~ nte, including the ~ two edge ~ can spread 30U ~ the effect suction movements e ~ give a maximum passage section mum; and, between these two extreme positions, an inter-medial marked with the number 2, in which the feed slot mentation can open moderately. So ~ every po ~ ition marked with the slot corresponds to a different flow rate of the liquid or of the food in the bottle. Therefore, if the ali-mentation is considered too fast, we can, by simple rotation of the '. . ~ '. '' . ~: ' . ..,. .:. ':. ', , bottle, bring the teat to the low flow position.
Nevertheless, we can see that even in the flow position minimum, the flow delivered is not always low, being given that it can grow very quickly in ~ anointing of the im-lift of sucking depression exerted by the infant.
It follows that a teat ~ slot of the classic type ~ sic does not allow not reduce as much as you sometimes want, the speed of feeding. We can certainly think of decreasing the length of the feed slot, but there is a collision then, with this kind of pacifier, ~ serious difficulties, or when we want to give the baby a little liquid food, such as porridge for example due to the risk of clogging or ~ 'ob ~ obstruction of the small slot, or when the infant exerts too little suction even in the po-~ maximum flow rate ~
~ a present invention aims ~ achieve a pacifier slot of the type indicated above, including the feed rate or, at least in the po ~ ition minimum flow, substantially constant or little variable depending on the importance of 3UC-cion. According to the invention, the feed slot, instead of being formed on a convex curved surface, substantially spherical, as it is ~ t the ca ~ of ~ teats ~ ~ ente of the prior art, is provided inside a concavity arranged on the end of the pacifier, Des e ~ 8a1 ~ cornparati ~ s, which ~ have ~ described below ~
in detail, show in particular that in the mid-flow position minimum, the flow remains stable for the concavity teat according to llinvention, al. as it increases rapidly in the case of a nipple with .class type clique ~ ique lor ~ that one increases the depression-suction suction.
~ a pré ~ ente invent ~ we have for object the product industrial new that con ~ titeats a teat ~ variable flow and adjustable, of ~ tinée in particular ~ fit on a baby bottle -.

the invention, that the slot is arranged on a non-surface ~ convex and, preferably, ~ the interior of a concavity, m8me - 9i the latter has a radius of courtyard ~ ure relatively tall. ~ a maximum section of this surface measured in ~ a perpendicular plane ~ the axis of the teat can only vary weakly between two limits: indeed, its upper limit is formed by the diameter of the nipple and its lower limit is formed by the length of the window. By cons ~
9 ~ it is a sur ~ ace c ~ ncave, the pro ~ corrector of the cavit ~ can be larger or smaller. We prefer however that oonoavity ~ is shallow9 on the one hand, for questions easy cleaning and, on the other hand, because of the relatively unsatisfactory results obtained with a nipple with a deep concare surface in the positions other than that of minimum flow, as far as the sta-flexibility of the feed rate as a function of the depression suction.
To better understand the ob ~ and this invention, we will describe below, ~ purely as an example illustrative and not limiting, an embodiment shown ~ ur the attached drawing.

Referring to the attached drawing, we see that we have designated by 1 dan ~ a whole pacifier according to the invention made of rubber ~ ouple. ~ a pacifier 1 has so classic a nipple 2, which is ~ oumi ~ to the movements of ~ uccion of the child. On the free end of the nipple 2 is provided a - rectilinear slot 3 extending in an axial plane of the teat 1.;
At each end of the slot 3 e ~ t provided a circular hole area 4a, 4b whose diameter is approximately 0.5 mm. ~ e ~ center ~
of ~ two end hole ~ have di ~ so ~ of 3 mmc On the edge in ~ er of the body of the nipple are di ~ po ~ é ~ conventionally troi ~ marks 5a, 5b and 5c; the reference 5a is arranged in the plane ~ editor of the slot 3; the rep ~ re 5c is in the axial plane of the teat which contains the slot 3 and the reference 5b e ~ t disposed in an axial plane of the pacifier, which makes an angle of 45 with the axial plane which contains slot 3.
If we present, in a known manner, the reference 5a under the nose of the infant who will use the pacifier, the ~ lip ~ of the latter are arranged parallel to the slot 3; this the latter can only open slightly, from ~ orte that we ob-maintains a minimum flow; ~ i on the other hand, the benchmark 5c eqt plaoé
80U ~ the infant's nose by rotation of the bottle around his axis, the lips of the latter are alor ~ perpendicular ~ ~ the ~ ente 3, which can and ~ e open to the maximum, of ~ orte that one obtains the maximum teat flow rate; ~ i we position the pacifier using the marker 5b, the slot 3 will be able to open moderately and the feed rate of the child will therefore intermediate between the two maximum and minimum flows previously teeth ..
3 To allow ~ in the minimum flow position, obtaining a flow rate not varying or very ~ depending on according to the invention, provision has been made to house the slot .

If we cut the spherical monkfish by a plane passing through axis 7, the arch of circle of intersection corresponds to an angle at the center of approximately Of course, it is not essential that the con;
cavity 6, where the slot 3, 90it is spherical; we can also provide other ~ curved urfaces ~ concave ~ e.g.
ample ovoides, ellip ~ o ~ dales, etc. We prefer, for these sur-concave curved faces as the angle ~ shown ~ ur la ~ igure
~ 'anglec ~ is the angle which e ~ t formed when llon cuts the concave curved surface by a axial plane not ~ ant by the mean line of the fe ~ te 3 by the tangent 9 led to one of the ends of the slot and by the axis ~ 7. ~ when the angle C ~ is voi ~ in of 90, this means that the concave curved surface pre ~ ente a rayo ~ of courbur ~ -very large or else said that this ~ ur ~ ace is prati ~ uly pl ~ ne. For a value of the angle ~ lower ~ lower ~ 45, we get ~ t a flow ~
that varies little or practically ~ not depending on depres ~ dan suction ion ~ minimum flow position of the teat may ~ which, on the other hand, gives a flow regulation little satisfied ~ ante in the other two ~ positions.
~ n also prefer ~ ue the length of the rope 10 which ~ or ~ -tends the arc of intersection of the concave curved surface
~ntion;
3 with an axial plane ~ see Figure 2) or at least twice su-p ~ the distance 11 measured between the middle of the rope 10 and the middle of the aforementioned dlintersection arc ~. In the ca ~
of a spherical curved surface, this limit e3t reached for a hemispherical cap, the depth 11 e3t equal to the ra ~ on the cap.
We submit the teat 1, which has just been described, ~
of ~ comparative tests with a teat in all similar points May ~ which does not include a concavity. These two pacifier ~ ~ have studied in position 1 minimum flow rate ~ when the ~ lips of the child ~ have di ~ laid ~ parallel ~ the slot, and in the position 3 of maximum flow, when the child's lips have arranged ~ perpendicular to the slot. We measure, thanks to a appropriate equipment, the variation in water flow depending of depression ~ ion of ~ piration. We represented ~ ur Figure 4 the ~ flow variation curves in function ~ ion of the depression.
We wore ~ depresence depres ~ suction ion expressed ~ e in mm of water and on the ordinate the air flow rate expressed in cm3 per mlnute The aourbes Al and A3 ~ have those which are obtained ~ with the head tine 1 according to the in ~ ention, when it is respectively put in position 1 or in position 3 and the curves Bl and B3 are those, which are obtained by putting the pacifier ~ slot of the prior art laughing san ~ concavity, re ~ pectively in positions 1 and 3.
From these curve ~, we see that:
- in position 1 of minimum flow, when the depression increases, the flow rate increases frankly for the teat of the prior art and re ~ you markedly rain ~ ~ table for the pacifier 1 ~ elo ~ in ~
~ ntion;
- in position 3 of maximum flow, the flow increases ~ ta ~ ec depres-sion for the slotted teat of the prior art, while for the teat 1 ~ according to the invention, it also grows ~ t ~ may sta-bili ~ e then for ~ value ~ éle ~ ée ~ of as depression piracy. Ain ~ i, in position 1 the flow deli ~ re by the teat according to the invention e ~ t practically independent of the d ~ pres-~ suction ion and, in position 3, we also get a 9 ~
improvement over the prior art teat since for ~ high values of suction depression, the bit ~ e stabilizes, alor ~ that for the pacifier ~ slot of the prior art:
laughing, it continues to grow.
It is of course that the embodiment below dessu ~ described is in no way limiting and may give rise to any ~ desirable modifications if necessary of the invention.
