Abstract

APLICAçãO DE UM AGENTE ANTIMICROBIANO EM UM ARTIGO ELASTOMERICO. Um artigo elastomérico tendo redução de afinidade e transmissão de micróbio e métodos para aplicação e imobilização dos compostos antimicrobianos à superfície de substrato elastomérico são descritos. O artigó elastomérico tem um corpo formado de um látex de polímero natural ou sintético tendo uma superfície externa e uma superfície interna. O corpo tem um revestimento de um agente antimicrobiano sobre pelo menos uma porção da referida superfície externa. O tratamento envolve aplicação de acordo ou com um processo de pulverização ou imersão de um polímero ou composição antimicrobiano a uma superfície do substrato elastomérico; ligando a composição antimicrobiana a superfície em uma maneira tal que o referido revestimento antimicrobiano tratado passe por ou uma ou outra ou ambas as versões de uma zona de teste de inibição, tal teste incluindo: a) um teste de contato com base no prato de Agar ou de lixiviação seca, de acordo com o protocolo de AATCC 147, ou b) um teste de frasco de agitação dinâmica ou de lixiviação úmida de acordo com o protocolo de ASTM E-2149 - 01. O substrato é também submetido a um teste de transferência de contato germicida rápido de duração relativamente curta. O polimero antirnicrobiano pode incluir um composto de biguanida ou amónio quaternário de organossilano que pode romper as cargas iónicas de membranas celulares microbianas.
