Abstract

"APERFEIçOAMENTO NO PROCESSO BAYER DE FABRICAçãO DE TRIIDRATO DE ALUMINA, O DITO APERFEIçOAMENTO TENDO COMO OBJETO A SEPARAçãO DO LICOR DE ALUMINATO E DOS RESìDUOS INSOLúVEIS". Processo de fabricação de triidrato de alumina por ataque alcalino da bauxita de acordo com o processo Bayer, no qual a separação do licor de aluminato e dos resíduos insolúveis é realizada com o auxílio de um dispositivo de separação líquido-sólido (E; W2; DC), caracterizado pelo fato de que, para acelerar e melhorar a separação do licor de aluminato de sódio e dos resíduos insolúveis no seio da suspensão (21a; 41; 230<39>) que contém o dito licor e os ditos resíduos e que alimenta o dito ou é proveniente do dito dispositivo de separação líquido-sólido, faz-se passar pelo menos parcialmente a dita suspensão (21a; 41; 230<39>) por um hidrociclone (H1; H21; H22; H3). Em uma primeira modalidade, é utilizado pelo menos um hidrociclone a montante do decantador-espessador como clarificador do licor supersaturado. Em uma segunda modalidade, é utilizado pelo menos um hidrociclone como espessador das lamas de resíduos insolúveis. Em uma terceira modalidade, é utilizado um hdrociclone em combinação com o decantador de caustificação.
