Abstract

APERFEIçOAMENTO NO PROCESSO BAYER DE PRODUçãO DE TRIHIDRATO DE ALUMINA POR ATAQUE ALCALINO DE BAUXITA, ESSE PROCESSO COMPORTANDO UMA ETAPA DE PRé-DESSILICATAçãO. Processo Bayer, comportando a moagem (L, B), depois o ataque (N2, A) dessa bauxita por colocação em contato com um licor de aluminato de sódio (20b, 120b). O ataque levando à formação de uma suspensão (3a, 103) que é em seguida tratada para separar os resíduos insolúveis (5a,105a) do licor de aluminato de sódio. O licor é em seguida decomposto (D), depois reciclado como licor de ataque (20, 120), após ter sido separado do trihidrato de alumina (11, 111) precipitado no decorrer da decomposição e concentrado por evaporação (E). O processo compreende um tratamento de pré-dessilicatação (P) no decorrer do qual a bauxita moída é, antes do ataque, colocada em contato com uma solução sódica aquosa, caracterizado pelo fato de se utilizar para esse tratamento de pré-dessilicatação uma solução sódica aquosa (30, 130) cujo teor em carbonatos, em sulfatos e eventualmente em cloretos, expresso em percentagem em relação à concentração em soda cáustica, é inferior à metade do teor em impurezas correspondentes do licor decomposto (8,108).
