Abstract
MéTODO PARA OPERAR UM FILTRO DE MEIO GRANULAR DE PROFUNDIDADE E FILTRO DE MEIO GRANULAR DE PROFUNDIDADE. A capacidade de carregamento de contaminantes da carga de um filtro de meio granular de profundidade é aumentado impondo um chamado "retro-deslizamento" no leito de filtro. Em intervalos entre retrolavagens normais, um volume de líquido é passado ascendentemente através do leito de meio sob condições de fluxo selecionadas de maneira a deslocar pelo menos algum do contaminate ascendentemente no leito enquanto que essencialmente não removendo nenhum do contaminante do vaso de filtro. Preferivelmente, o leito de filtro compreende pelo menos dois tipos de meios de tamanhos de partícula e densidades diferentes porém uniformes, os tipos de meio cada um formando uma camada distinta nas qual o tamanho de partícula efetivo do meio em cada camada sucessiva decresça na direção descendente do vaso.
