Abstract

MéTODO DE TRATAMENTO DE POLìMEROS. A presente invenção refere-se a método para reduzir monómero não reagido em um polímero solúvel em água ou intumescível em água compreendendo as etapas de i) aplicar um iniciador ultravioleta à superfície do polímero e ii) irradiar o polímero com luz ultravioleta, onde o iniciador ultravioleta é dissolvido ou dispersado em um meio líquido e onde o meio líquido compreende um composto orgânico. O método á útil para redução na quantidade de acrilamida não reagida em poliacrilamida. Também é reivindicada uma composição iniciadora líquida compreendendo i) um iniciador ultravioleta, e ii) um meio líquido compreendendo um composto orgânico. O sistema iniciador é útil para aplicação à superfície de um polímero, tal como poliacrilamida, na remoção de monómero não reagido, tal como acrilamida.
