Abstract
"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA MAPEAR PACOTES QOS PRIORIZADOS PARA CANAIS QOS PARAMETRIZADOS E VICE VERSA". São descritos um equipamento e um método para adaptar pacotes de dados QOS, tais como aqueles usados por dispositivos Ethernet com prioridades IEEE 802.1q para pacotes de dados parametrizados que podem ser transmitidos através do canal isócrono de uma rede IEEE 1394, Hiper LAN 2, ou rede similar ou barramento serial com serviços isócronos. Um dispositivo adaptador usa a presença de uma prioridade em uma LAN QOS baseada em prioridade como uma indicação para estabelecer um canal isócrono no dispositivo IEEE 1394, hiper LAN 2 ou dispositivo similar para a transferência de uma corrente potencial. Quando o dispositivo adaptador detecta o campo de prioridade e tenha determinado que, para chegar ao dispositivo de destino, o próximo segmento é através de uma LAN com serviços isócronos (por exemplo, IEEE 1394 ou Hiper LAN 2), o adaptador estabelece um canal isócrono (caso ele seja o primeiro pacote de um fluxo) para o próximo dispositivo na trajetória da corrente e a seguir repassa tal pacote e qualquer pacote futuro que esteja marcado de forma idêntica (endereços e prioridades) através de tal canal isócrono. O adaptador está também configurado para converter pacotes que foram enviados através do canal isócrono da maneira acima descrita de volta para pacotes de dados priorizados para transmissão para um dispositivo Ethernet ou outro dispositivo QOS priorizado. Outra característica do adaptador e método é o ajuste dinâmico.
