Abstract

"ANEL DE EXPANSãO PARA COLUNA DE TRANSFERêNCIA DE MASSA E MéTODO DE UTILIZAçãO DO MESMO". A presente invenção refere-se a uma coluna de transferência de massa (10) provida com pelo menos uma bandeja de contato de vapor-líquido (12) que é disposta dentro da região interna aberta (14) definida por um invólucro (16) da coluna (10). Pelo menos um anel de expansão (26) forma a base e suporta a bandeja de contato de vapor-líquido (12). Um expansor (38) está associado com os primeiro e segundo segmentos de extremidade (32,34) do anel de expansão (26) que definem um recorte (36) no anel de expansão (26). O expansor (38) inclui suportes angulares (48) soldados nos segmentos de extremidade (32,34) e um elemento rosqueado (50) que se estende através dos suportes angulares (48) e transporta porcas (54). O giro das porcas (54) contra as superfícies de revestimento dos suportes angulares (48) faz com que os primeiro e segundo segmentos de extremidade (32,34) do anel de expansão (26) sejam forçados para longe para causar um aumento na circunferência do anel de expansão (26), dessa maneira vedando o anel de expansão (26) contra a superfície interna do invólucro da coluna. Pelo menos uma chapa de vedação (58) é posicionada no elemento rosqueado (50) para bloquear o recorte (36) no anel de expansão (26). Hastes (27) se estendem entre o anel de expansão (26) e um anel de suporte (24) que é soldado no invólucro da coluna (16) para transferir uma porção da carga transportada pelo anel de expansão (26) para o anel de suporte (24).
