Abstract
"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA EXECUTAR DETERMINAçãO DE POSIçãO EM UMA REDE DE COMUNICAçãO SEM FIO COM REPETIDORAS". São descritos um método e equipamento para executar a determinação de posição oem uma rede de comunicação sem fio (por exemplo, celular) com repetidoras. Um sinal recebido por um terminal é inicialmente identificado como sendo proveniente de uma repetidora. São obtidas uma posição e uma incerteza de posição para a repetidora identificada (por exemplo, a partir de uma base de dados de repetidoras) e providas como a estimativa de posição e a incerteza de posição para o terminal caso (1) uma estimativa de posição mais acurada para o terminal não possa ser obtida, (2) o terminal seja considerado como estando em um ambiente interno, ou (3) o terminal esteja localizado suficientemente perto da repetidora identificada. Caso estejam disponíveis informações para retardos adicionais associados à repetidora identificada, então a estimativa de posição para o terminal pode ser derivada com base em uma medição de tempo 'compensada' para a repetidora identificada (isto é, com os retardos adicionais removidos) e medições de tempo para pelo menos dois outros transmissores recebidos pelo terminal.
