Abstract

"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA CONTROLAR A OPERAçãO DE UM TERMINAL DE ACESSO EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO". Um método e um equipamento novos e aperfeiçoados propiciam o controle de uma operação de um terminal de acesso durante o processamento de um sinal de um ponto de acesso em um sistema de comunicação. Vários aspectos da invenção permitem a um terminal de acesso desabilitar um processo de handoff quando seu demodulador ou decodificador estiver operando para demodular ou decodificar uma mensagem de controle recebida de um ponto de acesso. A operação do terminal de acesso é controlada de uma maneira que impede terminar prematuramente o processo de demodulação e decodificação de um sinal de controle por um processo de handoff. Como resultado, o terminal de acesso pode continuar a operar em um período de ciclo normal de ativação/espera, enquanto conserva sua energia de bateria.
